"I was thinking maybe you can come to my house for a sleepover," whispered Erin to Ellie, hopefully.
"But your house is haunted," Ellie whispered back.
Erin frowned. She knew that would be her answer. Ellie was terrified of ghosts; she did not like anything horror-related, including Halloween. The three of them were sitting on their bikes. Griff talked to another student while Erin and Ellie chatted, waiting for him.
"Why don't you invite Griff? He loves all things horror," asked Ellie.
Erin looked at Griff. For some reason, she found herself smiling.
"He's a guy, and you have no idea how my parents and brothers would react if they found out that I invited a guy for a sleepover," explained Erin, though she did not mind him going to her house.
"He's just a friend," Erin reminded herself.
"Ok, I'll come, but I'm inviting him," Ellie stated, nodding at Griff.
"Why don't you want to come to my house without him?" questioned Erin, slightly annoyed.
"Cause you smile every time you look at him," teased Ellie, grinning.
Erin gave Ellie a shut-up look and then glanced at Griff while Ellie grinned endlessly. Griff finished talking and approached them.
"Let's go," said Griff.
Erin and Ellie invited Griff to the sleepover, and he instantly agreed. Ellie and Griff went to their houses to get sleeping bags, and Erin went along with Ellie, who teased Erin about Griff the whole ride there.
Erin entered the Manor, followed closely by Griff and Ellie. Ellie seemed to be a bit less terrified than before but the fear was still there.
"I know we just got here, but where are we staying?" asked Ellie.
"Griff can bunk with my brothers, and you can bunk with me," Erin said as Ellie nodded nervously.
"You'll be fine!" added Griff, noticing Ellie's discomfort.
"I know!" snapped Ellie.
Mr. and Mrs. Raven were happy with their company, mainly since they helped clean up. Alex, Aidan, Griff, Erin, and Ellie, huge fans of Harry Potter, binge-watched the whole series, which caused them to stay awake 'till 2 am, secretly, since Mr and Mrs Raven had not agreed.
"Is anyone sleepy?" asked Alex.
"No," everyone chorused.
"I think we should go to bed. It's pretty late," commented Aidan, and Ellie agreed, mostly because she was scared.
Everyone else protested.
"I think a vote is in order. Those who want to stay awake, raise your hands," said Alex. Erin, Griff, and Alex immediately raised their hands.
"Looks like we win," said Alex mockingly.
"Well, what do we do?" asked Erin.
"I was thinking we could play a game," said Alex, smiling mischievously.
The trio looked at each other in confusion while Aidan gave a disapproving look to his twin.
"I am not playing that game," stated Aidan.
"Will someone tell us what's going on," shouted Erin, to which everyone shushed her.
"We are going to be playing the Ouija Board," answered Alex.
"But isn't that a spirit-contacting game?" asked Ellie, scared.
"How are we supposed to do that?" asked Erin, "We don't have an ouija board."
"Well," said Aidan.
"We have one," finished Alex.
"Since when?" asked Erin.
"Since we researched about this house," replied Aidan.
"We tried contacting spirits, but-" said Alex.
"It didn't work," finished Aidan, looking disappointed.
"But we're willing to give it another try," said Alex, hoping they would agree.
"Alright, let's do it," everyone said in unison.
"This is going to be a fun night," thought Erin.
