Take Care Of You (Fluff)

Prompt: Reader gets sick and Tanjiro takes care of them.

Coming back to the butterfly mansion utterly exhausted after a mission. Moving towards the bedroom yet sleep is not the first thing on my mind. Y/n has been sick for the past three days after a mission where we were stuck in a cold cave for five hours, her fever unhealthy high.

Walking into the medical bay where my darling Y/n is curled up in pain on one of the beds. My heart immediately aches for her, concerned as I walk forwards. The rag on her head old when I remove it, sweat all across her forehead as she battle the fever.

I reach down to cup her face, her response a whimper as she leans into my touch. "Tanjiro-kun?" She questions, to weak to open her eyes. Frown on my face grows deeper as I see how much pain she's in.

"Shinobu-san said your fever should be getting better . . . " She breathes heavily as she tries to sit up.

"Don't. You stay here and rest up. Can I get you anything?" She sinks back down into the bedding, kicking off the blanket as heat rises to her head.

"Water." She whines turning over in an attempt to find a comfortable position.

"I'll be right back love." I bent down, kissing her burning hot forehead before heading to the kitchen to look for what she needed. Entering the kitchen to see Aoi standing at the stove, walking up to the island.

"Aoi-san. Y/n-chan's fever won't go don't and she wants water. Is there any other way I could help? Could you make soup-" "Calm down Tanjiro-San. I'll go get some stuff for her, meanwhile dish out some of this soup into a bowl please?" Aoi sighed, running off to grab what Y/n needed.

Grabbing the serving spoon I dish a generous amount of soup into the wooden bowl, smelling the aroma of fresh herbs and vegetables.

Aoi quickly returns with a fresh rag on a tray, a cup of water, dose of medicine, and spoon. I place the soup in the middle, thanking her before returning to my girl.

"Y/n-chan," I call out to her, going to sit on her bedside before turning on her lamp. "Can you sit up please?" She nods weakly, before I help her get into a comfortable sitting position. "I have water, soup, and medicine but you need to eat first. Medication on an empty stomach is bad." She nods. I pick up the cup of water, about to help her drink when her eyes flutter open, a soft smile coming to her face.

"I can do that Tanjiro-kun. "She takes the cup from my hands, bringing it up to her lips before taking slow small sips.

"I know, I just want to help you in any way I can."I whine, making her smile spread.

"Fine, you can feed me my soup." She giggles at the silly way my face lights up, placing her water cup down while I pick up the spoon. I scoop out some some soup before bringing in up to her lips. She eats the soup, the warmth of the broth bringing great relief to her sore throat.

Continuing to spoon feed the soup to her, until the bowl is empty, then handing her the water to wash it down. She then looks at the medicine, disgusted with the putrid water, knowing Shinobu makes great ailments yet they taste horrible.

Sipping the medicine slowly, a scent of disgust immediately emanates from her as she gulps down half the medicine. "Your doing so good, just a little left." She nods, before quickly drinking the rest, swallowing before sticking her tongue out with disgust at its sour flavor.

I grab the tray, placing it to the side while she takes another drink of water. Grabbing thar from her aswell, before leaning back down to kiss her forehead.

"Thank you for taking such good care of me sweetheart." Her words make my heart speed up, utterly in love with her in sickness or when she's healthy.

"Always. Is there anything else you need?" I asked as she laid back.

"Stay with me?" She smiled, scooting over to make room for me. Changing into the provided pajamas before snaking under the covers of her bed. Cuddling up to her.

"I'll always be here to take care of you my love."
