"He's been watching me too? Why?"
"You're associated with me and I'm associated with Sami. He'll do anything to get to Sami."
"My god..."
"I'm so sorry Luna. I never wanted any of this to happen... the second you walked into my hospital room after your shift and sat down, that was probably when he had eyes on you. You wore your Stone Cold shirt, ripped jeans and boots."
"You remember me wearing that?"
"Yeah, I remember all of that day, especially when you walked in."
"And you mentioned a sponge bath."
"You remember that? I was hoping you forgot that."*Flashback*
Luna had finally finished her eight hour shift. Emphasis on finally. She loved being a nurse but some patients were absolute pains in the rear ends. Call for her for the tiniest thing, when I say the tiniest I mean that. If something was just out of reach, by a mere centimeter, people would call for her. Are you seriously that lazy? Of course she had to smile and help but come on, you use to admit that is a new level of laziness.
Usually the young woman would head straight home after her busy shift but not this time, no, she went to see her favourite patient. That patient, Dean Ambrose. He didn't call her in for the tiniest things. Dean had respect for the nurses and doctors, well as long as they weren't babying him. She had got changed from her work clothes, putting on her biker boots, ripped jeans and a Stone Cold shirt. Yes, Luna was a wrestling fan. A big fan of the WWE.
She walked into Deans room to see him laid alone, staring out the window. Visitation hours were over so everyone had to leave, not by choice though. They would have stayed the night there if they could have. It didn't feel right leaving Dean alone. They hated it but there was nothing they could do.
"Hey champ." Dean eyes snapped away from the window to see the young woman.
"Hey, you heading off now?"
"Yeah, my shift is finally over. I admit I love my job, most of the time."
"Let me guess, over demanding patients that want help with every little task."
"I cannot confirm or deny."
"That's a yes then."
"Maybe."
"We're getting closer to a yes."
"I won't say yes."
"Ah ha! You just said yes!"
"I did didn't I? Damn, you win Mr Ambrose."
"Call me Dean."
"Ok, Dean."
"I see your a wrestling fan or did you just like the look of the shirt."
"I am a wrestling fan. I love the WWE. Its an honour to be in a room with the WWE Champion."
"I wish it could feel like an honour to hold it right now."
"How could it not be? This belt signifies you are the best the company has to offer. You're the one that has worked the hardest and it has paid off."
"That's true but it's going to get taken away, all because of that idiot."
"What idiot Dean?"
"I shouldn't. I don't want to burden you with anything."
"It won't be a burden Dean. Get it off your chest."
"I... well... I can't. Not tonight. I'm sorry."
"That's alright. Maybe tomorrow then. I'm here again then, I'll make sure I visit you. I'll sneak in some goodies if you like."
"You don't have to Luna."
"You're right I don't. I don't have to but I want to. Will you let me?"
"How can I argue?"
"Good. Right, what can I get in for you?"
"I'm a sucker for milk chocolate."
"I'll have to bring extra of that. I love that too. A little too much really."
"You're insinuating your fat aren't you?"
"Well, look. It's everywhere."
"Hey, those are beautiful small curves. They are beautiful, just like your personality."
"Dean..."
"Curves are beautiful. Who wants to date a stick? You want something to hold at night, not something that will just slip through your fingers."
"That's a different way to put it."
"It is. Luna, believe me, your not fat. I've seen a couple of your colleagues, I think they are the fat ones."
"Dean!"
"What? I'm being nice to my favourite nurse."
"Goodnight Dean."
"Goodnight sweet cheeks." He waited until she had left the room before he spoke again. "I think I'm falling for her already."*The following day*
Randy was sat with Dean in the hospital room. Dean had this giddy smile on his face. He refused to tell Randy why he was so happy considering he was in hospital. Why would Dean be so happy? He hates hospitals with a passion. He was mardy as fuck yesterday until he saw Luna. Luna, that beautiful nurse. After a while it clicked in Randys head. It was Luna that was making Dean so happy. Question is, why and what did she do to make him so happy? Wait... did he get that sponge bath he wanted?
"Dean, did that nurse give you a sponge bath?"
"What?!"
"Did that nurse give you a sponge bath?"
"No. Why would she do that?"
"Errrr, you wanted one and I'm sure you tried to sweet talk her into it."
"No I didn't sweet talk her into anything."
"So come on, why is that giddy smile all over your face?"
"There isn't a giddy smile on my face."
"There so is."
"There isn't."
"There is-"
"Alright ladies. Put those handbags away."
"Luna!"
"There it is."
"Fuck off Randy."
"No."
"Then just shut up."
"Ummm, hello? You fellas done?"
"Yeah, sorry Luna. Randys just being an ass. As usual."
"Whatever."
"Anyways... moving on. Dean, I got you that chocolate we spoke about last night."
"You got it? Yes! Thank you Luna." Dean said as she gave him a few big bars.
"You're welcome. You might have to hide them from the doctor though. Don't tell him I got them for you."
"I won't. Thanks again darling."
"Stop sweet talking sugar. Hide them, see you both later. I'll swing by when I can."
"Bye honey bunny."
"Bye Dean."
"Bye Luna."
"Dude you so like her."
"Shut up."It had been a few hours before Luna had been able to return to Dean's room. There was something different about her, her aura had changed. She gave off a sadden aura. Something was definitely wrong.
"Luna? Whats up darling?"
"We just..."
"Come here." She did as Dean said, standing close to his bedside. "Come on, tell me."
"We just lost a patient... we kinda got a little close you know. We had this little bond I guess. Something like us, just not so flirty. We'd joke around whenever I was in the room and he loved it bless him."
"Awww. He sounds like a great guy."
"He was. I've been given the rest of the day off by my boss. She knows my mind isn't in the right place to be working anymore."
"You can stay in here as long as you like. Here, come onto the bed so I can hold you. Comfort you."
"Dean, I shouldn't..."
"It's only for five minutes. The other nurses aren't due to come round yet."
"Ok..." She crawled onto the bed with him. Placing her head on his chest. Listening to each heartbeat. "Dean?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you. This means a lot."
"You're welcome."Dean was only in the hospital another day after that but they spent as much time together as they could. They'd both hate it when Dean would have to leave. They both exchanged numbers, sent texts to make sure they got the number right. Their close bond was born in the moment Luna walked through that door, when she walked in. Walked in silently. The moment Dean held her close to comfort her. It was then, that bond was formed and their was no turning back. They were destined to be close friends, maybe even something more.
