Chapter 16 - Thank You Sami!

"Leave me alone..."
"Sami..."
"Adrian, you can stay. Other than you, I want to be alone."
"Ok. I'll text you guys later..." Everyone else left leaving the two on their own. They sat in silence until Sami began to cry. All he had ever wanted was to be a wrestler. Work in WWE.

Adrian immediately lent over the bed and hugged him. No matter the struggles he was facing himself, the nightmares meant nothing. Getting Sami through this horrific news was what mattered.

"I'm so sorry. If I could swap places with you, I would in a heartbeat."
"No. Don't say that. I couldn't bear you losing your dream."
"But I would sacrifice mine for you. So you could live your own dreams. I'd sacrifice everything for you."
"What did I do to deserve such a great friend?"
"You know, I ask myself that aswell. Look, I'm sorry I wasn't around to protect you from Corey. I should have stayed with you..."
"Adrian, don't do that to yourself. How was you to know Corey would turn up?"
"I didn't but..."
"No buts. You didn't know. None of us did. No one blames you. The only one being that silly is you Adrian. I do get it." Sami pointed towards his eye. "You left and then this happens. He would have stayed hidden. Seems he's good at that huh?"
"Yeah. He does. How was he able to get past all the security?"
"Good question. I say he's got someone on the inside. Someone that knows where we are all the time..."
"Are you saying you think it could be Luna, Dean or Randy?"
"Or someone else."
"You're thinking Kevin?"
"It's not like we have the best past is it?"
"Very true but... You think he'd help get you killed? Ok I admit he can be an ass at times but going as far as that? I don't know..."
"He's a suspicion. I don't think Dean and Randy would do this but it could be anyone."

*With Luna, Dean and Randy*

"Luna, you ok? You're quiet."
"Yeah, of course. Sorry."
"It's ok, don't apologise. Somethings bothering you though."
"Dean, I'm ok..."
"You're lying. I can tell. You can tell us."
"Fine, yes. There is something... I feel like we should have stayed with Sami and not gone for that tour. If we didn't go, then... this wouldn't have happened."
"We didn't know. Hey, I can tell you, Sami won't blame anyone. None of us knew. Looking back, I wish we had stayed if we knew this would have happened."
"It's just not right. Sami's dreams have been crushed because of this Corey idiot."
"I know. All we can do is be there for Sami. He'll need a few shoulders to lean on. It'll be rough."
"We'll help him through it."

Lunas Pov

Something really isn't right here, other than this situation. As a doctor or nurse, you tell your patient what their injures are. They need to be fully aware of what that can and can't do. I don't believe Sami knows any of his injures. I understand he's in a bad way, with the beating he seemingly took, anyone would be out of the ring for a while.

This attack ending Sami's career? I just can't really believe it. I've seen people with worse injuries and they've been able to get back into sports and they have been fine. Obviously I know each sport is different and wrestling is unbelievably demanding on your body but... this just isn't sitting well with me...

I need to dig into this. I need to know for sure.

*With Corey*

Coreys Pov

Everything is going perfect. Sami by now will believe his career is over. This is the least he deserves. Of course what he doesn't realise, his career isn't over. I didn't do that much damage. I just did enough so it could appear that way.

I have a ton of plans left to hurt Sami... and those who he cares about. Who should I target first? His precious best friend Adrian? No, not yet. I'm saving him for last. Something happening to Adrian is what will hurt him the most. I want this to be slow... start with others and end with Adrian.

End with Adrian... DEAD. That's how all this will end. Adrian will die and Sami will be broken. Sami will be so broken I won't need to touch him. He'll wallow in own self pity and end his useless life.

Now, who do we start with?

Randy? Dean? Hmmmm... not yet. How about Dean's precious little girlfriend Luna?

Perfect target. Now, what should I do to her?

*A few weeks later*

It was time. Sami had a segment on Raw, he had to go out with Adrian and give up the tag titles and announce his retirement. One day the time would come but he never pictured it being so soon. He was able to use one crutch now one of his arms were out of the plaster. No more going around in a wheelchair.

'Worlds Apart' began blasting through the arena. Immediately people jumped to their feet, screaming for their favourite Canadian... that was until they saw him come out. Plaster on one leg and arm. Adrian was holding both of the tag belts.

Once in the ring, Adrian took a mic from one of the ringside officials and slowly passed it to Sami. He knew what was coming. He wished it were him instead of Sami. He didn't deserve this, have to give up on his dream. Yet there was nothing he could do. The damage had been done and couldn't be reversed.

"You guys can probably tell, this isn't good news. I... uh... I was attacked a few weeks ago. It... It was a very vicious attack hence the plaster on my leg and arm. This attack has... My body..."

"No, no, no. Thank you. Thank you for cheering me each time I came out here. It's because of you all I was able to live my dream. You helped Adrian and I become tag champions. It has honestly been the best time of my career..."

"Because of the injuries I sustained in the attack against me, I have to vacat the tag team championship... and formally announce my..."

"I have to announce my retirement from WWE."

The crowd was stunned. This was the end of Sami Zayn's.

All because of one man, one man and his vindictive vendetta.

Corey fucking Graves.

Sami took one of the titles from Adrian and laid it in the middle of the ring. Adrian would then do the same. Both starred down at the titles and looked up at one another. Tears filled both mens eyes. Adrian would close the gap between them and pull Sami into a hug.

The crowd cheered for them. A sweet moment between friends. The chant started again...

### I'm so sorry it's been such a long time since I updated this story. I will try and keep this one updating along with Leave Him Alone. There is drama to come in story. To those that will still read this, thank you for sticking with the story.
