Milly stepped out of the shower, the warm mist clinging to her plump skin, she felt a sudden unease wash over her once her feet rested on the tile floor.
Her ears twitch as she stares at the bathroom door. A subtle shift in the air and an inexplicable sense of being watched sends a chill down her spine.
"It's nothing." She brushes off the feeling, convincing herself that it's just her imagination running wild. She couldn't let paranoia ruin her night.
She wrapped her bare body with a fluffy white towel grabbing another to dry her honey colored hair. She moves through her dimly lit apartment, the soft glow of her bedside lamp casts a warm ambiance. The only source of light. She followed it with a slight quickness, scared of the dark hallway.
Milly hurriedly shut her bedroom door, even going as far as to lock it.
She huffed while looking for a brush on her desk, unaware of the danger she turned a blind eye to, she instead focused on braiding her hair into two plaits and went about her usual routine oblivious.
Peeling at her antlers while reaching for a t-shirt in the closet and pulling out undergarments from the dresser near her bed. After pulling her tail through her panties she plopped herself on her bed.
Wrapping herself in her comforter like a newborn and sighed letting the terrible day at work she had to erase from her mind so she could sleep away the dread of the next morning.
She closed her eyes and a sigh reverberated through the room.
Milly's eyes cracked open, that wasn't her!
Her heart skips a beat as she shakes, fear possessing her, too scared to move at the realization that she is not alone.
Panic floods her mind as she struggles to comprehend the gravity of the situation. Could it be Conri? Or was it...
With trembling hands, she grabs the nearest object within reach, her hairbrush, her makeshift weapon against the intruder in her home.
She unravels the blanket cocooning her and cautiously tiptoes towards her bedroom door, her senses on high alert. Every creak, every gust of wind, sends her nerves into overdrive her ears pursed high.
She enters the hallway and peeks back in forth, searching for any signs of an intruder.
The moonlight filters through her living room curtains, casting eerie shadows on the walls, her eyes easily adapted to the dark easing her as nothing was seen in the shadows.
A breeze brushes against her back sending a chill up her spine.
She looks back into her bedroom letting her gaze fall upon the open window, the realization hit her like a punch to the gut.
She walked toward the opened window preparing to close it though when she reached out, a hand darts out from beneath her bed, grabbing her ankle with a vice like grip.
She screams, a raw, primal sound escaping her lips, as she fights to break free. Adrenaline surges through her veins, lending her the strength to kick and struggle against her captor.
She fell to the ground from their stubborn hold and turned to fight. Tears pricked her eyes as her assailant crawled on top of her grabbing her wrists and placing them at the side of her head, making her fear for the worst.
Her sight became blurry and she closed her eyes as a sob escaped her lips. She was left waiting for something, anything, but there was nothing.
Milly peeked her eyes open as she felt a gentle touch wipe away her tears. Her brows knitted as she looked up in confusion.
