==Hazel's POV==

I lightly knocked on the door of the ranch office.

"Come in." A muffled voice came from the other side. I opened the door and crept in, closing the door behind me.

"Hazel? I thought you were out with Hope. Is everything ok?" Miss Evans' eyes filled with concern.

"Everything is great." I start, as Miss Evan's relaxes. "Miss Evans, I-" I was cut off.

"Please call me Missy."

"Ok, Missy, I think I have a plan, to help Hope. She enjoys the trail riding, but is afraid to ride in front of other people. And I think I can fix that." A smile plastered itself on my face.

"Hmmm. Please, tell me about your plan."

"I want to take Hope on a... Uh... Retreat of some sort. Next weekend. With the horses."

"That sounds like a great plan. Meet me here after work, so we can discuss this a little more, ok?"

"Sure." And with that I got up and left the room.

==Hope's POV==

I sat on the door of Sky's stall. Sky painfully shifted her weight off of her injured leg. It was wrapped in a bright lime green wrap.

"You know, I like that color on you." Sky nodded her head as if in agreement.

Faith jumped up onto the stall door. I pet her soft, white fur. She gave me that goofy wolf smile she always gives me. I have one word for it. Adorable.

"Skydancer is fine, girl. The vet said she will be fine in a few days." I knew Faith had no idea what I was saying, but I needed to talk to someone. These two were all I had, except for Hazel or my sisters. But, I couldn't find any if them since their shift finished.

I continued to stroke my horse's long silky face. I climbed into the stall, hugging my horse for support. I sat down against the wall, and began to drift off to sleep.

I wake up in my bedroom, with Faith at my feet.

Mom must have found me in the stall.

I got out of bed and took a shower. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw mom making pankakes. Yum.

"Breakfast smells good." I inhaled each breath deeply, taking in the wonderful aroma.

"Thanks." She paused as she flipped a pankake. "You fell asleep in an interesting place last night, huh?" She laughs as she asks the question.

"I was lonely." I broke out into laughter as well, taking a seat at the table, taking sips of my orange juice.

"Oh, and sweetie, I know it's your day off, but do you mind grooming the ranch horses today? Your sisters and I have some things to do." I thought about the task. It's not really a hard job, so I decided to take it.

"Yeah, sure mom. What you guys up to? A competition?"

"No. It's a surprise."

I gave her a suspicious look, but she just smiled at me. An innocent, little smile. I knew she was up to something, but I dropped the subject. A stampede of feet came roaring down the stairs. Isabelle and Lucy peered around the corner, then sprinted to the table where the pancakes sat.

"I thought I smelled pancakes!" Isabelle said between giant bites.

"You two look like vultures that haven't eaten in months, fighting over a piece of meat." I was laughing so hard, my stomach hurt. And they really did look like vultures.

"So, girls, are you ready to go do our... Thing?" The question was directed to Isabelle and Lucy.

"Sure." They both said in unison, in between mouthfuls of pancakes. They got up and rinsed their plates, which they practically licked clean. Then they walked out to the truck, and left.

I ate the rest of the leftover pancakes, since my sisters weren't there to eat them. I feed and groomed Faith, making her coat shimmer like a fresh powder.

"There's my beautiful girl." I said, as she licked my face. I petted her, and we went out to care for the horses.
