We found ourselves at the entrance of an ancient tunnel. The entrance had odd markings engraved into it. I ran a paw along these engravings.
"What is this place?" I asked.
"The temple of Floralia's ancient prophecies," Sectonia replied.
She opened the temple's gates.
Along the walls were several stones lined up. Each one written with different markings, which were similar to the markings of the entrance.
"Does each stone represent a prophecy?" I ask.
"Yep," Sectonia responded.
"Why do you have so many prophecies? How often to you face some type of catastrophe that fate has decided for you?" Flamberge asked, examining one of the stones, which the corner of it seemed to have broken off.
"Floralia has recieved prophecies for aeons! Some of these can probably date back to millions of years old!" Sectonia made excited gestures as she spoke.
She ran a hand along the broken one Flamberge had been looking at.
"Some of them are far more recent than others."
She lost her excited tone.
"What's this one about?" Flamberge asked.
Sectonia tensed up for a moment.
"It's not important. It's just history."
As she went deeper ahead of us, I had just barely heard her mutter of "history I'd rather not talk about."
I sped up and matched my pace with hers.
"So what are we looking for, exactly?" I asked her.
"One of the prophecies here says something about the Heart Spears. Since it's incredibly old, it'll likely be very deep into the temple."
"How long will it take to find it?"
"I don't really know. I don't like going too deep in here. It's not too hard to get lost here, and this is also Coily Rattler's domain."
"Didn't we kill the Coily Rattler?"
"You really think there's just one?" Sectonia gave me a look of disbelief.
"There's more?!"
"Of course there are."
Well that was reassuring.
"Don't worry. The Coily Rattlers shouldn't be awake. They should be stuck in a stone state unless a powerful mage awakens them."
Taranza had just then caught up with us, floating beside Sectonia.
"I doubt any of the Rattlers are going to wake up," he said. "I've woken one up before. Trust me, it is not easy magic."
The deeper we went, the darker it got.
"Don't they have light down here? Like at least a torch?" I asked.
"Nope!" Said Sectonia.
"Well that's convenient," said Shadow Kirby said as Elfilin nodded his agreement.
At least I think he nodded his agreement. It was getting really hard to see at this point. Flamberge used her magic to form a small flame in her hand, providing us light. When we finally made it to the end of the temple, there was a large, golden stone at the back of the room, larger than any of the other stones.
"Is this it?" I asked.
"Let me take a look," said Sectonia.
"Flamberge, could you bring that fire a little closer?"
