Talia August Abrams (born August 18th, 1998) is an American singer-songwriter. She is apart of the band Solstice, whom have released one self-titled EP and two albums. The band has received four Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

Abrams was born in Reno, Nevada, but moved to Sacramento, California, at the age of fourteen. She performed a solo music act until the age of eighteen, where she met Astrid Lenard and Margo Simmons, forming the band Solstice. The three women have performed since the ages of eighteen around the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Their first composition, a self-titled EP, released in 2017, their first album, nectar of the gods, was released in 2019, and their latest album, rises the moon was released in 2021. All of which are critic acclaimed.

EARLY LIFE ↓
Talia Abrams was born in Reno, Neveda. Her family had moved to Sacramento, California, in 2012 because of her father's job placement. Her mother, Abria (52), works as a hair dresser, while her father, Lorenzo (54), worked as a lawyer. She has a younger brother, Levi (22), and a younger sister, Noa (17). Her father died when she was 21 from colon cancer. As a teen, she made extra money by cashiering at In-N-Out Burger. After graduating high school, she went to UCLA to study teaching before dropping out after her sophomore year.

CAREER ↓
Abrams and the rest of the band members of Solstice formed in 2016. They had mostly performed in the Los Angeles area before being signed by Rebublic Records, to which they released their self-titled EP in 2017. This EP began to grow their popularity around the U.S. and they performed all around the West Coast, New York, and Chicago. Their producer is Jack Antonoff, who has worked with them on their two albums.
The release of their first album, nectar of the gods, in 2019 had solidified their presence in the music industry. Some of the records on this album had made it onto Billboard's Top 100 (mirrorball, august, nectar of the gods, etc.) After the drop of nectar of the gods, they were nominated for Best New Artist in the Grammys.
Their latest album, rises the moon, in 2021 has also been very successful. They sold over two million copies and had a worldwide tour. They were nominated for Best Album in the Grammys for this album.

PERSONAL LIFE ↓
Talia Abrams identifies as a lesbian. She has stated that her family has supported her through her journey of her struggling sexuality. Her mother is an active advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Abrams is said to have dated women in college, but has not specified who.
Abrams' first public relationship was with fellow musician Josette Maskin from April of 2018 to February of 2019. The two are said to have no bad blood and are still close friends. Maskin's band, MUNA, had opened for part of Solstice's tour of their album rises the moon. The two had broken up for the reason of conflicting schedules and not spending enough time together, saying that they would be better off as friends.
Abrams' second relationship was with the actress Magnolia Giova from November of 2019 to September of 2020. The two met through Margo Simmons, the bassist and pianist for Solstice. They have not come out with a reason for the breakup, but many songs on the album rises the moon are speculated to be about Giova.
Abrams has spoken out about her struggles with mental health, stating that she has been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. She seeks therapy for these conditions and hopes others will too. She is also a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, POC rights, Black Lives Matter, women's rights, and much more.
