Chapter 6: Unseen Shadows

As Adora cradled Catra's limp form, a mixture of concern and determination etched across her face, she felt the weight of the night's events pressing down on her. The healer's words echoed in her mind as she navigated the castle's corridors, carrying Catra with a gentle strength that belied the storm within.

Reaching their room, Adora carefully laid Catra on the bed, her eyes never leaving the feline warrior. Catra, stubborn as ever, stirred slightly, her eyes half-open as she mumbled, "I don't need your help, Adora."

Adora chuckled softly, her concern laced with a touch of amusement. "Well, you're getting it anyway."

Catra, attempting to sit up, winced in pain. "I said I'm fine, just... just leave me alone."

Adora, undeterred, sat on the edge of the bed, studying Catra's weary face. "You don't have to do this alone, Catra. We're a team, remember?"

Catra's eyes, filled with a mix of exhaustion and defiance, met Adora's gaze. "Teams fall apart, Adora. Don't you get that?"

Adora sighed, her eyes reflecting the weight of unspoken history between them. "We've been through too much to let it all fall apart now."

As the room settled into a heavy silence, Adora broke it with a soft offer, "Look, just rest for a bit. I'll be right here with you."

Catra, a glimmer of hesitation in her eyes, nodded reluctantly. Adora, sensing the fragile agreement, stood up. "I'll be back in a minute, okay? Try to get some rest."

As Adora stepped out, she found Glimmer, Bow, and Glimmer's mom nearby. Panic was etched across her face as she began pacing, recounting the unsettling events that had unfolded. Glimmer's mom, a seasoned warrior, exchanged a knowing look with the others.

"We need to check on her," Adora urged, her voice filled with urgency. "Something's not right."

Glimmer, ever the leader, called out to the castle healer, "We need you now! Adora says something's wrong with Catra."

As the healer hurried to their side, Adora led them back to the room. The air within had shifted, a sense of foreboding hanging like a heavy curtain. Catra, once defiant and resilient, now lay motionless, her breathing uneven.

Adora, her concern deepening, whispered to Glimmer, "She's been through so much, Glimmer. I can't lose her now."

The healer examined Catra, her face growing solemn. "There's something more at play here. Her vital signs are erratic. We need to find out what's affecting her."

Adora, unable to tear her eyes away from Catra, felt a deepening unease. The feline warrior, caught in the grip of unseen shadows, seemed to be fighting an internal battle that extended beyond the physical.

As Adora moved closer, she noticed Catra's breathing becoming more unsteady. The feline warrior, in her sleep, clung to Adora as if seeking refuge from an unseen threat. Adora, feeling the desperation in Catra's unconscious grip, gently extracted herself, her movements careful not to disturb the fragile peace.

Running back to Glimmer and the others, Adora relayed the urgency of the situation. "She's terrified of something, but I don't know what. We need to find out."

Glimmer, Bow, and Glimmer's mom exchanged concerned glances. "We can't let her face this alone," Glimmer declared, her voice resolute.

As they reentered the room, Catra's distress seemed to escalate. The once fearless warrior now trembled in the grip of an unseen fear. Glimmer, her eyes wide with concern, shouted to the healer, "We need answers! What's happening to her?"

The healer, now examining Catra with a furrowed brow, hesitated before responding, "It's as if she's caught in a nightmare, reliving a traumatic moment. We need to wake her and find out what's haunting her."

As the healer prepared to rouse Catra, the room hung in suspense. Etheria, poised on the brink of a gathering storm, now faced a different kind of battle—one that unfolded in the shadows of the mind, where fears and unspoken horrors held sway over even the bravest of warriors.
