"Did I really hear that right? This isn’t a dream, is it?"

Did Bade Papa truly say the name SURYASH PRATAP RAJVANSH? An alliance for me—from a royal family?

Impossible!

To clear my doubt, I asked again, "Bade Papa, did you just mention Suryash Pratap Rajvansh, the grandson of Ranaji Devraj Pratap Rajvansh of Udaipur, who was recently declared the king of Udaipur?"

"Yes, Gudiya," Bade Papa replied, his sweet smile confirming the unbelievable truth.

"How? I mean, a proposal from such a prestigious family for a girl like me? This doesn’t make any sense," I said, my face full of questions.

How can such a significant man marry someone like me? A girl with no special qualities. A perfect man like him doesn’t deserve someone so... broken. ~ I thought to myself.

“Tumhare jaisi ladki? What do you mean by that, Gudiya?” Bade Papa asked, his voice tinged with unexpected firmness.

(“A girl like you? What do you mean, Doll?”)

“You know what I mean!” I said, feeling disheartened.

“No, I don’t. All I know is that my daughter is a gem and she deserves the world.”

His words carried so much certainty that I couldn’t help but feel something stir inside me. Each word held deep sincerity. Instead of feeling fortunate, I felt my eyes fill with tears.

AT NIGHT IN HIS BEDROOM:

After picking up the portrait from the studio, I rushed back to the office to attend a last-minute, yet important, meeting.
