"He makes me want to throw up." Y/n remarked, hands braced tightly on the wheel of her car.
"I mean....he is hot though-"
"STACEE."
Stacee erupted in a fit of laughter, giving her friend a sympathetic look.
"Just keep going to the meetings whether he shows up or not. I know its a waste of your time, but maybe administration will let you off the hook if you show you were corporative."
Y/n let out an annoyed sigh.
"Yeah."

This time, instead of waiting for Judd to arrive, y/n decided to pull out her laptop and do some work of her own in the library during study hall.
Just as she was beginning to get a rhythm going, she heard the chair across from her being pulled out. Looking up from her work, she locked eyes with Judd as he sat in front of her.
"Good morning." She said. She was met with silence.
Y/n rolled her eyes, putting one of her earbuds in and looking back down at her laptop. After a while, she got back into the groove of her work and Judd began to pass time by flipping a small pocket knife between his fingers.
Then once the bell rang once again, he stood and left, not saying a word to y/n.

By the time the final bell rang on the next day, y/n had made up her mind.
She packed her things furiously, walking to the library with stride in her step. When she sat down, she placed her laptop on the table, turned it on, and waiting.
Soon Judd found his way into the room again, taking a seat across from her just like the day before.
Y/n waited 5 minutes, trying to give him a caunce to speak before she did. But he didnt.
"Okay look." She said seriously, moving her laptop to the side and facing him directly with her hands on the table.
"Set him straight Y/n!" Mona fidgeted excitedly in her seat next to her.
"You dont like me, I get it. You dont want to work, thats fine. But I REFUSE to sit here in silence with you for the rest of the semester." She said firmly, finally matching Judd's glare.
Her heart was beating wildly in her chest. She had heard about Judd, all the deranged and scary things he was rumored to have done, but she refused to let him push her around.
"My name is Y/n." She said, holding out her hand.
Judd looked at her, then down at her hand, then up at her again.
Then slowly he reached his arm out and shook her hand.
"This is where you introduce yourself as well." She said.
"Judd." He said in a low voice.
"Nice to formally meet you." Y/n said, the shake leaving her spine. The air was quiet for a moment.
"I dont hate you." He said suddenly and quietly.
"Hm?" Y/n hummed, almost sure she hadnt heard him correctly.
"I dont hate you." He shrugged.
"This program is fucking bullshit thought."
Judd was leaned back in his chair, eyes casted down on y/n intimidatingly.
"You can say that again." Y/n sighed.
"As much as Id like to say Im doing this out of the kindness of my heart, Im not. We didn't really have a choice in the matter."
"So why dont you just leave?" Judd asked.
"Because, if I dont get you to graduate I lose all my recommendations, and lose out on most of my community service hours. I have a reputation of being reliable." Y/n sighed.
Judd noticed how tired she looked in that moment, not physically tired, but emotionally exhausted.
"mm." He hummed.
"What are you gonna do once you get out of this shithole?"
"Community college and then medical school." She said immediately.
"You?"
"Bridgeton vocational school."
Y/n perked up.
"My brother finished trade school here a year ago, he loved it." She smiled.
"I love a girl with a pretty smile, her lips would look prettier around your dick." Maury said deviously, whispering into Judd's ear.
"He just barely graduated his senior year, but he soared in trade school, got some real valuable skills outta it too."
"Mm."
A was a little rocky at first, but soon the two developed a pretty solid conversation. And before y/n knew it, it was time to go home. They hadn't gotten any work done, but she did know Judd a little better.
Judd stood up as y/n began packing her things. When she looked up she realized he was standing at the edge of the table, waiting for her. She smiled a bit, picking up her bag and moving to his side.
The two walked out to the parking lot together. Judd walked her to her car, watching her get in before walking down to his down truck.
"Youre not too bad of company, Judd Birch." Y/n said just before closing her driver's side door.
Judd shook his head slightly as he walking to his car. Maybe the program wasnt that bad.
