Dana walked along the rail road tracks as she traveled by foot. When she was by the tracks she felt like she was at home.Dana felt comfortable there. She didn't feel out of place. She didn't feel like she was being judged. She felt accepted and as if she truly did belong there. Dana felt the wind blow against her face. It was cold and it made the hairs on her neck stand up. Dana hugged myself trying to intake all of the warmth that she could. It was late October and it was starting to get really chilly outside. She had only left with a dress on with a jacket. As Dana walked she could hear a a train coming. She was on the tracks. Dana saw something white laying on the ground next to her. She bent down and picked up the folded paper and got off the tracks. She opened the folded the paper and. She read the sentence that was written on the small piece of paper,

Follow the the tracks to get home.

Dana looked up from the paper. She saw the train coming at full force. She stepped back away from the train. As it went by she fell back by the gush of wind that had hit her.

The note said to follow the tracks. What if there was a quicker way to follow the tracks? Dana looked up abruptly towards the train going by. There was a quicker way. She looked towards the end of the train. There was an empty cart and the door was open. She ran towards the train. The train quickly zoomed past and Dana feared that she wouldn't be able to get on. She held on to the little hope the she still had left and got herself prepared for the jump that she had to make. The empty cart was coming closer and closer and Dana was prepared and ready for the jump. She started to run knowing that she would have to in order to get on the cart. She looked back as she was running and saw the cart coming. she pushed her legs to run faster. The cart slowly got in front of her and she ran to keep up. She spotted a handle bar near the side of it. She reached for the bar and pulled herself into the empty cart. She was in. She was safe. She did a quick check for bruises and found none. She pulled herself deeper into the cart and sat against the wall of the cart and gently began to close her eyes.

Dana was awakened by a loud crash. Dana's eyes quickly opened. After Dana's eyes adjusted to the dark she could hear shuffling and grunting. she looked out the door and she saw a man unloading bags of grain off one of the carts. I looked around at the other surroundings it seemed that the train had stopped at a town. It appeared that the man was unloading things that had been in the carts. Dana saw the man start walking towards the cart that she was in. Dana quickly rushed over to the other side of the cart and got out as quietly as she could for her stay there would go by unnoticed. Once she was out of the cart she looked at the town that she had arrived at. The town had a pretty statue in the middle of town. The ground around the statue was covered with colorful flowers of different kinds. I started to walk towards the statue to get a better look at it.

The statue was of a man on horse. Behind it was an American flag. There were names written on the statue. She looked down and found found a podium with a description of the statue.

In honor of those who fought and died for our freedom. We will remember you always and the sacrifices that you have made for our freedom.

I looked up at the names on the statue. I saw a name that stuck out the most. I spotted it almost immediately.

Daniel Fray.

The note had said to follow the tracks to get home, is this home? Could this be her home? Why had the tracks led her here? Was this a sign? Was this a clue?Dana looked around at the rest of the town. It was all completely quiet. All of the lights in the town were off, leaving the town dark and dreary. Who was Daniel? Why did she feel a connection to his name? All of these questions she couldn't answer, but she was determined that one day she would understand all these questions that kept racing around in her head. She would be satisfied knowing the answers, but for now she still had to keep looking for clues to uncover all of these secrets kept away from her.
