Dana stared at her in disbelief. She looked at the woman in the eyes, begging for an answer from her. Dana felt herself wanting the answer more and more. The woman knew what Dana wanted to know. The woman knew who she was. She knew the ins and outs of the secrets Dana didn't even know about herself. Dana began to lose herself. She felt her common sense drift away and disappear into thin air. Dana got a mad look in her eyes as she stared at the lady. Dana lost all control of her body. Her hands reached out towards the woman, clutching her shoulders. She looked the woman straight in the eye not dropping her eyes.
"Please, who am I?" Dana said deeply in a shaky voice. "Don't say you don't know, you know. You know very well who I am. Tell me. Who am I?"
Angelica looked down away from Dana's brown, mad eyes. She looked at the floor with worry and concern in her eyes. Dana saw tears start to form in Angelica's eyes. Anger over came all of Dana's senses. Why should she be the one with tears? She knows who I am. I don't. Dana couldn't control her limbs. She shook the lady by the shoulders. Tears spilling out of Angelica's eyes. Dana shook her, all of her anger and stress coming out through her arms in force as she shook her.
Dana repeated the same words as she shook her,"You know. Tell me! You know. Tell me! You know Tell me!" Pain, anger, hope, every emotion spilling out in each word like a child carrying an over-filled bucket.
Dana felt someone grab her from behind. Dana was pulled off of Angelica. Dana still held a crazy look in her eyes. Dana looked at the person who had pulled her away. Dana looked into the eyes of William. Dana lost it.
"She knows. William, she knows. She knows. She knows........." Dana burst into tears losing all feeling of her legs. She fell, only to be caught in William's strong embrace.
Dana could faint. "I'm sorry." Being repeated over and over, again and again by Angelica in Dana's mind. Drowning her thoughts into a state of despair. She furrowed her eyebrows trying to cease the headache that she had gotten. Dana continued hearing the words,'I'm sorry. I know, I know.' repeated in her thoughts. Dana slowly closed her eyes, the pain in her head pounding. Dana slowly found herself drift into a deep sleep.
"Dana. Dana, hey, wake up. Come on you have to wake up sometime."
Dana felt herself being shook by the shoulders. Slowly Dana had managed to open her eyes. She saw a bright light. She could smell a sweet smell. The air was warm and it was calm. She let her eyes lazily close and then she opened them slowly again.
"Am I in heaven?" Dana had asked dumbly. She blinked and her vision began to clear. She found Angelica above her holding a cold, wet wash cloth on her forehead. Angelica softly dabbed her forehead with the towel. Dana looked to the side to see William with a worried expression written all over his face. He looked relieved to be able to see Dana with her eyes open looking at him, alive.
Dana quickly tried to sit up from the position on the couch that she was in. She was quickly pushed back onto the sofa. Dana tried to resist but knew it was no use. She took in a deep breath frustrated that she couldn't do anything.
"Has she been passing out this a lot?" Dana heard Angelica ask.
Dana was about to answer no, but before she could William answered the question.
"Yes, a lot of times. It's mostly random."
Dana could see Angelica put her head in her hands rubbing her temples. Should looked like she knew what was going on but was too afraid to tell what it was. Dana could see the despair in her face. It was a face of debating.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Dana asked. Dana was worried by Angelica's expression. Dana knew that something was wrong. It was something serious.
Angelica gulped as she looked into Dana's eyes. "You stay here. I'll be right back. Don't move. Please don't leave." Dana and William watched as Angelica ran out of the room, out the door. Dana bit her lip, worried.
William stood up and looked down at Dana. "I'm going to go make some hot tea. Don't get up." Dana watched as he walked slowly out of the room towards the kitchen. Dana looked around the room, not knowing what to do with herself. AS Dana's eyes scanned the room, they fell on a white piece of paper that was settled on the sill of the window. Dana looked over towards the kitchen to look for William. Once she knew he was still making the tea she slowly got up out of the position on the couch. She sneaked over to the window being as quiet as she could. Once she reached the window she quickly reached for the white paper.
I am the answer to all of your questions. I wish you the best of luck.............finding me.
Dana crumbled up the note and stuffed it into other pocket that held the rest of the notes that she had gotten. Dana rested all of her weight onto the wall taking in a deep breath. Dana heard William start to walk into the room, interrupting her peaceful state. She quickly made her way over to the couch and laid herself down again. She saw William walk into the room, she greeted him with a small smile. He offered her the tea. She took a sip and they sat there in silence waiting for Angelica to come back.
After waiting a long time they heard Angelica come back in the door. She was breathing hard and she had sweat on her forehead. She rushed over quickly to Dana.
"It's time I told you something that you need to know." She said in a rushed, hurried voice. Her voice was shaky and uneven.
"What?" Dana said worried and confused.
"Your name."
"What do you mean?"
"Your name is Dana," Angelica's voice cracked in fear,"Your name is Dana Fray. You are my sister-in-law."
Dana stared at Angelica in shock. If her last name was Fray, that couldn't mean....... Was it true? Was she really thinking this all through? She couldn't be, I mean it was impossible, right? Right? Dana tried to contain her thoughts, but too many questions rushed in and out of her mind, back and forth. Dana closed her eyes, taking it all in.
Angelica bit her lip, knowing that what she had just told Dana was going to change everybody's life. Not just there's, everybody's. It was suppose to be kept a secret but Angelica had let it spill. Angelica didn't know what to say, so she said the first thing that came to mind.
"Welcome to the family."
