Sudden Affection (Pt. 3)

thankx for your support guys!! and im SO sorry to having this in 3 parts but its a lot to write in one go, at least for me, who barely has writing experience,,,, plus i could experience writers block so bear w/ me here guys....... anyways yeah enjoys :333

     When the pair walked through the door, they found a table with two sofas- 70's style. They sat next to each other and talked for a while until a server came up to them. They were surprisingly the only people in the store... probably because they got there exactly when it opened. The server was.. Tiny Diamond??

     "Hello, and I will be your server today," said Tiny formally. He used his hair to give them menus, and he fixed his little red bowtie.

     Amused, Poppy said, "Why, thank you Tiny," back in a fancy tone.

     Branch just sat there confused and nodded with Poppy. "Tiny.. why do you have a job here? You're one month old.."

     "I don't even work here for reals, I just snuck in here. Now shh, don't tell a soul." Tiny walked away, leaving the other two alone.

     "Sure is interesting," said Branch, interrupting a one-minute silence. He picked up two menus and gave one to Poppy. He opened his as soon as she opened hers.

     Poppy pointed at something on the menu and said, "Uh, I think I'm gonna order the strawberry sugar cookie milkshake. What about you?"

     "Mint vanilla chocolate," Branch replied with a smile. "Still can't believe they even have quadruple flavors..."

     Poppy giggled and leaned against Branch with a big smile.

     Branch put his arm around Poppy's shoulders, smiling.

     Tiny came back with a notepad. "Your order?"

     Branch replied, "A mint-vanilla-chocolate milkshake and a strawberry sugar cookie milkshake please. Extra sprinkles on the strawberry one."

     "Anything else?"

     Branch looked at Poppy, who shook her head. "Nothing else, thank you."

     Tiny walked off after clicking a pen.

     Branch asked, "Are you enjoying today?"

     "Yeah, I am."

     Branch sighed in relief. "That's good.."

     "And it's even better, because It's with you."

     Branch smiled warmly. "Well, there's nobody else I would do this with."

     Her eyes widened at his remark and she giggled a bit. "Awh.."

     "Tch, what's so funny," he joked. He laughed a bit.

     "Nono, it's just, you said something cute."

     "Mhm." He kissed her head, pulling her in closer.

     She froze and her face flushed more. "What is up with Branch today?" Nonetheless, she put an arm around his shoulders. "You're comfy."

     "I know."

     Tiny came back, obviously struggling, but with their milkshakes on a tray. His hair was holding the tray. "Your milkshakes." He shakily placed the tray on the table.

     Branch opened his mouth. "How did you.. even get the milkshakes??"

     "Don't question it," Tiny replied. "Is there anything else you two lovebirds need? Comforting choice of words, a rap... better taste in milkshake flavors?"

     Branch chuckled in reply. "No, nothing else. Thanks tiny."

     Tiny walked away with his arms behind his back.

     The pair grabbed their milkshakes from the tray, both taking a sip. Poppy sipped faster while Branch sipped slower.

     "Oh, this is so good!! What about yours, Branch?" She looked at him with a toothy smile.

     "It's good as well." He returned a smile.

~ timeskip 8 mins later, they finished their milkshakes ~

     "Thank you for today," said Poppy, who gave him a kiss on the cheek.

     In response, Branch gave Poppy a kiss attack- multiple smooches at once!! All over her face.

     Poppy held Branch's face by forehead and cheek in an attempt to pry him off, but couldn't because she was weakened by laughter and Branch was stronger. Once he was done, Poppy put her nose to his. "I love you Branchifer."

     "I love you too, Poppifer." He gave her a soft kiss right on the lips. "You wanna leave now?"

     Poppy nodded with a lovestruck expression. She held Branch's hand.

     Branch interlocked his fingers with hers, squeezing her hand gently.

     The two walked out of the shop, talking and skipping along towards Branch's bunker. Branch then slowed down, forcing Poppy to slow down as well. His expression was as if he had the best idea ever, leaving Poppy confused.

     "Hey Poppy, scoop!" Branch picked up Poppy bridal style and carried her all the way back to the bunker.

     Poppy laughed the entire time back to the bunker. When they got there, she said with a chuckle, "Oh Branch, you always know how to make me blush."

     Branch very carefully put her down. "Good thing I do. Now, let's go inside?"

     Poppy nodded and hugged Branch the entire time until they went to the floor where Branch's room was located.

     When the pair finally arrived, Branch sat on the bed, and Poppy alongside him. He asked,

     "So, what do you want to do now?"

     Poppy thought for a bit. "Bake treats maybe? For the entire village!"

     "I wouldn't go that far.. but we can make a lot to distribute to friends."

     "Okay! Let's go to the kitchen!!"
