We spent one more night at the Burrow, everyone fell asleep quite quickly exhausted from the cheering and exhaustion of the day, but I struggled to sleep. I spent most of it staring at the necklace in my palm, thinking about the burn and the dark mark we saw. Though I realised I was circling the same facts over, coming to no conclusion and ended up falling asleep holding my necklace. We were now on the train to Hogwarts, and I was still holding the necklace deep in thought. We'd been discussing the nightmare to Hermione, as she found it curious we'd had the same one. Though I wasn't really listening to her ramble on, something else was playing on my mind.

"Sirius would want to hear about all this, Harry. The dream. The dark mark," Hermione stated.

"Hermione, what else do you know about this?" I asked, changing the subject. I held the necklace up to her as Harry got out a quill and started writing on some parchment. She took it and looked at it for a while then turned back to me and shrugged.

"I mean, I told you most of what I know. Your mother's necklace became the symbol of-" she began.

"Dark and light magic, yes, I know. But.. is there any reason for it to, I don't know, cause harm?" I interrupted, and she frowned at me looking shocked. Harry and Ron turned their attention to us too, curious looks on their faces. I sighed, I'd tried to keep it discrete but they knew something was wrong. I unbuttoned my shirt very slightly and Ron gave Harry an embarrassed glance. I rolled my eyes and revealed the burn to them.

"Y/n, but how.." Hermione asked, and I suddenly felt uncomfortable with them gauping at the mark on my chest. I buttoned my shirt back up and pulled my robes back over my shoulders.

"When the dark mark appeared at the Quidditch World Cup, it sparked something in the necklace too, I think," I explained, leaning back in my seat.

"Strange," she muttered.

"Well Malfoy gave it to you didn't he? I guarantee he did something to it," Ron snapped. I shot them an insant frown, but it slowly faded as I realised he had a point.

"I mean, it makes sense, and it's the only possible thing I can think of," Hermione said to me, a guilty look on her face as if she didn't want to admit it to me. I hated that they could be right. I mean, Lucius seemed to know about what would happen that night, who's to say it hasn't been planned for years? But for whatever reason I didn't want to believe it.

Our conversation quickly ended with the sound of the trolley lady coming down the corridor outside the compartment. Harry gave the letter he'd written to Hedwig, watching her fly off to deliver it out the window as Ron went to the door and bought something to eat. I stood beside Harry to scan the trolley checking if I wanted anything. As Ron brought his sweets I noticed a look between Harry and one of the Ravenclaw girls, Cho Chang. I smirked at him as he turned to me when she left.

"Anything sweet for you dears?" the lady asked, turning to us.

"Oh, no thank you," Harry replied, going to close the door. As he did I spotted Draco leaving his compartment down the corridor. I held it open so I could pass, Harry closed it behind me. I made my way to Draco and Blaise, and they turned and smirked as they saw me.

"Hello Potter, enjoy the game? Draco told me you were there with the Weasleys," Blaise said, grinning as I approached them. I nod at him once then turned to Draco, he smirked down at me though I couldn't tell whether it was a spiteful glare or a flirtatious one.

"Can I have a word?" I asked him, though it was really a question to Blaise so he could leave. He gave me a short nod and disappeared back to the others.

"Hey you," he smirked, wrapping a hand around my face. I pulled back from his grasp, causing his smirk to drop.

"Not now," I whispered, pretending to hint that it was because people were passing down the corridor. Really I just didn't want to act all 'cosy' with him if he had planned something in the necklace that I didn't know about. I held it up in front of his nose. "Why did you give me this first year?" He frowned slightly and briefly brushed his fingers across the symbol like he'd never seen it before and shrugged.
