Reader is named Emma and 13. The brothers and Emma are staying in a motel in Idaho. They just finished a ghost case.
"Morning Sunshine." Dean chuckles as Emma sits up tiredly rubbing her eyes. "Fuck off." She groans stuffing the pillow over her face. "Hey watch your mouth and your damn attitude." Dean scolds sternly. Emma ignores him stumbling out of bed and heading to the bathroom. Dean rolls his eyes but makes note of the way her arm was wrapped around her stomach. Emma had woken up in a terrible mood yet again. The last few days have been filled with stomach pain, headaches, mood swings and arguments with her father. "I'm supposed to put up with this shit for a week every single month?" Dean sighs grabbing a fridge from the beer. Sam immediately starts to laugh. "Imagine how she feels." He points out making Dean nod. He was sure this experience was ten times worse for her than it was for his. "I just don't get why she hasn't told me yet." Dean mutters taking a few swigs of beer. "It's kinda an awkward topic to bring up. Plus she is your kid, independent and stubborn." Sam chuckles softly. "Yeah, I guess." Dean chuckles sadly. He always wished for better for his daughter. He tried to be better than his Dad was but he was raising a teenage girl with out a mother and in the hunting life. "Whats wrong?" Emma questions seeing her fathers face as she exits the bathroom. "Nothing wrong Sunshine." Dean chuckles placing the beer on the table. "It's 7 AM daddy, they say day drinking is the start of a midlife crisis." She teases making Sam laugh. Dean glared down at him. "Can you take me to the store?" Emma questions. "For?" Dean questions hoping she would finally fess up and admit she got her period a few days ago. Dean had no clue how she was managing or where she even was getting 'supplies' "I'm out of conditioner and my hair is in a dread. I need to shower before we get back on the road." She lies with ease. Dean nods pursing his lips and glancing at her foot with was tapping Thunderstruck by AC/DC. Her anxious habit. Lying to her father always made her anxious so Dean was quick to pick up on the habit. "Alright. Let's go." Dean mutters grabbing the keys and getting in the car. "Thanks Dad." Emma smiles grabbing her phone and following her. "You ok Dad?" Emma questions concerned. "Yeah I'm alright Sunshine. Why?" Dean questions. "You didn't turn the music on." Emma says frowning. "Yeah I'm alright it's a short drive. You want me to go in with you?" Dean questions parking the car. "That's ok. You can stay." Emma whispers. "Alright." Dean mutters handing his daughter his wallet.
Ten minutes later Emma gets back in the car and puts the bag in the backseat purposefully putting them out of her fathers view. "Hey Sunshine?" Dean says tossing his wallet in the glove box. "Yeah?" Emma questions. "You know you can tell me anything right?" He says starting the car, Emma eyes go straight to the floor. "Yeah." She whispers. "I'm just making sure you know that." He sighs parking the car back in the motel. Only a five minute drive. As Dean is turning the car off Emma finally finds her voice. "I do have something to tell you." She whispers. "Yeah?" Dean mutters. "I got my period. A couple days ago." She rushes out playing with her fingers. "Yeah I know Sunshine." Dean says. "You do? How?" Emma mutters. "You're my kid. I notice these things." He chuckles. "Oh." She whispers. "I know I'm not your Mom, but I am here for you. You don't need to be embarrassed about this stuff. You're growing up and it's normal kid." Dean says trying to avoid any awkward conversations about puberty but letting his daughter know that he was here. "Thanks Daddy." She says sliding over and wrapping her arms around her. "Anytime Sunshine." He chuckles.
