The exam was surprisingly easy, I did well in it too.
That evening as I walked towards the parking i remember that i didn't come in scooty and in fact came in the van.
In the last minute haste I forgot to think about my evening transportation.
As I stand outside the college gate, not knowing what to do, a familiar car pulls up in front of me.
Everything stops for a moment as my eyes meet with maama's eyes as he bends and looks at me from the driver's seat.
"Get in" he says while I feel the whole college's eyes on us. Of course they know we are family but not everyone knows we are married.
I awkwardly get in as fast as I can, blushing a bit.
"How did you do your exam ?" He asks, looking at the road.
"Surprisingly well maams" i reply.
"Pass dhaana ?" He asks teasingly.
"Doubt dhaan" i tease back.
"Oh then forget about me" he says just as teasingly.
"Adhellam onnu theva illa (no need) I will past in A class" I say making him smirk and shake his head.
"Did I do too much this morning ?" He asks after a few minutes.
"A bit" i say, not wanting to be rude.
"Well actually i didn't know how to react in front of all the others. They just kept teasing us and i didn't know what to do" he fumbles, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand.
"It's okay maams. You ought to feel that way since we never went out as a couple or have never felt like a couple even once in the past one year. Don't worry, I understand you and your space" I say, smiling at him making him give me a grateful look just as we arrive.
"You go, I'll come back for dinner. I have some work in the party office" he says and I nod getting down.
"Bye maams" I say before walking into our house.
I refuse but everyone forces me to cook dinner for maama alone and take it to the farmhouse and spend our night there. I told them no and also told that he will not accept it anyways.
But again, Paati took the lead. Whatever she tells, maama follows. I wonder how she is able to do that. It is only after she informed that maama agreed that I started cooking.
I prepared his favourite meen kuzhambu (fish gravy) and fish fry and took it to the farmhouse around 7 o clock.
Karthi and Divya kept me company till he came there around 8 o clock.
"Bye da, take care" Karthi says before walking out. Surprisingly he is holding his tongue today.
"Don't break the bed. Okay Pandii ?" Divya teases maama.
"Adingu !" He says making her laugh and run away.
After they both go we both look at each other awkwardly.
"Paati only forced me...." He drags.
"I know. I told them but they were hell bent" i say and he nods.
"It's okay leave that. Come I have made you your favourite dishes" I say leading him to the dining room.
I make him sit and place the plate on the table and serve him.
"You sit down, i will serve you now" he says making me sit on the chair near him and serves.
I smile at his antiques, this is exactly why I like him.
We both eat in silence.
"When and where did you learn to cook this good Mayil ?" He asks with amusement after we wash our hands making me blush.
"Anyways, I am going to sleep in my room. Guest bedroom has been made ready for you to sleep. I informed the maid as soon as I cut paati's call. Have a good night's sleep. You have exam day after tomorrow so you should be completely rested and ready to read for it tomorrow" he says, ruffling my hair before walking off to his room.
I smile at his retreating figure before going to the guest bedroom.
We both dose off and I am woken up at 6 o clock and then we both go to our house in his car.
All the cousins torture me about what we did yesterday night.
Though I keep telling them nothing happened, they kept asking me so I decided to take a walk and go to the farmhouse for studying with my books.
It went smoothly till evening before maama arrived.
I noticed his arrival but he didn't notice my presence.
It was only when I entered his room did he notice me.
"What are you doing here mayil ? Shouldn't you be studying ?" He asks with a frown.
"That is exactly why I am here maams. In our house all the cousins kept asking asking me about last night and weren't believing when i told that nothing happened and kept torturing me. So I came here for studying in the morning itself" i say.
"Oh" he replies as he gets up from his bed, he was going through some files when i arrived.
"I won't disturb you, if you feel like I am distracting I will leave now itself" he says.
"No no maams. I just saw you and wanted to make my presence known. That's it. You are not distracting or disturbing me" I say with a smile before going back to the guest room.
When I finish studying it is almost 10 and maama and i go to our house together.
Apparantly the elders got worried about me and kept calling maama so he made sure to stay till I completed , didn't even have his dinner, and take me home.
It is only him and me in the dining table when we sit to eat. His Amma, that is, athai serves us.
"You both are such stubborn people ! You studying for him and him sacrificing so much for your studies. Shababababa, you both are definitely made for each other" athai says making me blush as maama keeps eating.
I don't know what he feels inside, all I know is that he hides his feelings well when it comes to me and me alone.
And i believe it is solely to make me complete my degree and get a job.
Worry not maama, I will do all of that and then completely make you my husband. That is, if you let me in.
Soooo sorry for the late update babes, my final exams for the year were going on so i wasn't able to give any updates. Soooo sorry.
