As we walked towards his office I felt my heart beating quicker, as I began to think about everything that he may have wanted to talk to me about. The few seconds that it took for us to make it to his office felt like an eternity.
I sat down on the chair in front of his desk looking at him as he cleared his throat and watched me back.
"ElleCee do you remember your life, before you met Sebastian" he asked, almost desperate to see a change of reaction in me, but I didn't move, my brain went into panic mode.
"Most of it. Haven't I already told you about my past family?" I asked steadily. Trying to not let much emotion out in my voice.
"I believe you have, but I've just discovered something that you may want to hear beforehand." I watched him expectedly.
"Your twin brother.. Oscar?" He asked, I nodded letting him know I remember Oscar.
"He's made it into formula one. He's the second driver for McLaren this season. I thought I'd tell you, before you ran into him yourself. Please be careful ElleCee. I understand your previous parents had a specific way to go about things and I don't want you to get too excited about seeing him again. For him to just be like them. Protect yourself, if you need to talk we're here, everyone in the paddock adores you Ellie."
I went to speak, yet nothing came out. My throat went dry. I just looked at him in shock before I managed to let out, " I'd heard them talking about karting before I left, but I never expected him to get this far. Do I avoid McLaren? I love talking to Lando, I just don't want to risk seeing Oscar.."
"Keep your distance. Speak to Lando just don't stay at McLaren as much, unless you want to tell him the truth. If I were you I wouldn't tell him unless you absolutely have to. You know Lando and you also know he would drop anyone or anything for you. We don't want to create another 'brocedes' situation. Speaking of telling people who have you told already?" He asked, his voice was laced with wisdom yet sternness. I respected him, I nodded, agreeing silently to his idea.
"I've already told a few of the older drivers that I knew when I was younger. So, I've told Carlos, Daniel and Kimi. Then, I told George and Max, since I knew them quite well when I was younger. Then Mick knew as I met my dad through his family. I think that's all, although now I'm thinking about it there are quite a few who know." I mustered quietly.
Christian cleared his throat before saying, "If you put it into consideration that isn't actually that many. They're all very respectful so I choose to believe they wouldn't tell anyone else without your permission." I smiled for what felt like the first time in his office. "I'll let you go now, just do me a favour.. watch your back don't do anything your father wouldn't do" he smiled as I laughed.
"See you later Uncle C" I walked out his office, my head still pounding slightly, still trying to absorb the new information. I made my way out of Red Bull and in the direction of Ferrari.
I pulled my phone out once I was a fair distance away from RB to message Carlos and let him know I was heading over to Ferrari. As I was about to continue walking I heard a voice I knew too well, as I turned around to be greeted by the one and only Lando Norris. What I had missed, while Lando approached me, was an Australian I knew far too well.
I smiled at Lando, as he reached me and pulled me into a flying hug as he spun me around. I laughed into his neck as he eventually put me down.
"It's been too long!" I laughed. Oscar stepped out from behind Lando only for Lando to realise Oscar was actually here, before introducing us. ElleCee this is my new teammate Oscar, Oscar this is ElleCee!
I stretched my hand for him to shake only for him to nod his head at me. I grimaced while I thought about how that was a very Piastri thing to do.
"Wait!" Lando said excitedly "Ci-Ci let me go get you one of my hats quickly, stay here" he shouted, already running towards his garage. I smiled.
"Well if it isn't ElleCee" Oscar scowled.
"It's been a while hasn't it?" I mumbled.
"Yeah a while since you left me" he growled. I was shocked by what he meant, since I had never left him. He must be delirious from the heat I considered. Covering my suspicion with the easiest answer.
"What-" I was interrupted by Lando running back towards me at full speed before he skidded to a stop right in front of me. I held out my water for him to drink assuming he must be thirsty after running. We exchanged objects. I gave him my water and he gave me his hat, putting it on my head for me.
"Thank you!" I chimed, as he drank the water not even bothering to skyfall it. Not that I minded, he could keep it if he wanted. Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate as I quickly checked it only to see it was Carlos replying to my earlier message.
"No problem muffin" He smirked, whilst I visibly cringed at the nickname that he made when we were 14.
"I have to go, Carlos just messaged me" I spoke softly, giving him a quick hug. Ignoring Oscar completely as he reciprocated the hug wrapping his arms around me before letting go and saying a swift goodbye after kissing the top of my head. I waved goodbye as I walked off towards Ferrari.
