Percy's POV
You know, considering I'm never one to have a plan this one is going rather well. Or it was. I decided to do this in Poseidon's temple because if he felt me in it he wouldn't have done anything. Maybe gaining the attention of the Jason and Annabeth wasn't a good idea considering now all of the gods know my secret. I'm meeting death early."Oh shit." I mutter
I turn around to see Poseidon, Jason, and Annabeth frozen in time a few feet away from me. I turn towards them and open my mouth to talk, but nothing comes out. I look away from to figure out something to say, but nothing comes to mind.
"Percy, why did you do this?" Annabeth asks
"It's not what you guys think." I say
"What is it then?" Jason asks angrily
"I just want to help everyone. Having these powers would only help me do that." I say
"Percy, you know I will stand by you through anything, but this? I never expected this from you." Poseidon says, "They'll kill you for this."
"Which is why I didn't tell them! No one was ever supposed to know about any of this. That day on the beach with Jason's as a mistake. It never should've happened, but at the time I didn't know how to fix it." I say
"And you do now?" Jason asks
"I do. I'm the Lord of Time. Everything to do with time I have mastered and is completely under my control. None of you in any danger. It's not like that!" I say desperately
"It doesn't matter if we are in danger or not. Zeus will kill you for having these powers." Poseidon says
"Told you." Kronos butts in
Kronos was right. Zeus will kill me for having these powers, and it doesn't matter if Kronos is here or not. These powers have only ever been associated with bad, and my having them is no different. The more I think about this situation the more I realize I can't get out of it. The only way to get out of it is to redo it.
"That's a terrible idea." Kronos says
"But it would work." I say, "It's the only thing I can do."
"You could talk to him." Kronos says
"Yeah? And say what, 'I'm hosting your father and he gave me his powers." I think not." I reply
I turn away from the 3 frozen figures and mutter quietly with Kronos trying to figure out a plan. He seems really against me going back in time and fix this. I know I can do it and not ruin anything. He says that it's dangerous to do that because you could get stuck in a time you were never meant to be in, but I know that won't happen.
I pretty much made up my mind, but took kronos' advice and decided I will at least talk to them. And let him talk to them, but that is a terrible idea. I turn back to the 3 and unfreeze them from time. Jason immediately rushes toward me with his sword drawn, but I stop him in his tracks.
"That's what we're not gonna do. Me and Kronos had agreed that it may be of interest that I explain myself to everyone. Even though I'd get vaporized either way I'm willing to talk to the council." I say
"Percy, you have to understand that Zeus won't care what your reasoning is. He will kill you, and me sticking up for you will only make things worse." Poseidon says
"I know. You don't have to stand by me. I'm not planning on staying very long anyway. I can take care of it." I say
Poseidon nods as I unfreeze Jason again. He flashes us all to the throne room. We are met by all the gods waiting impatiently, and all the demigods looking at them with confusion or fear. As we enter, all eyes turn to me and all I see is fury or disgust.
The Olympians sit in her thrones and everyone else stands in a circle around the perimeter of the room. I stand in the middle of the arch and wait for someone to say something.
"Perseus. It has come to our attention that you are involved in some... concerning events." Zeus says
"I'm always involved in concerning events." I counter
"We're not doing this today Jackson. Tell me, are you or are you not hosting Kronos?" He asks
I stay silent for a moment debating whether I should actually tell him or not. There's a low murmur in the back of my mind, but I can't exactly make out what it is Kronos is saying. I pull the voice forwards and his words are more clear.
"This is disrupting the process. It's harder for me to fade out here." He says
"I know, but it won't matter in a minute." I mutter earning looks from the Olympians
We have a silent conversation for a few minutes leaving the Olympians awaiting my answer. Every now and then I look up to see the scowl in zeus' face grow with every passing minute. I explain my plan to Kronos, and he just grumbles in response. He still doesn't think it's a great idea, but it's the only one we have. Apparently I was standing there for longer than I thought because before I knew it Zeus spoke up again.
"Perseus! Answer the question. Are you or are you not hosting Kronos?" He asks again
"I am." I say reluctantly
The room fills with gasps and nasty words thrown towards me. I just let everyone get their initial reactions out of them and remain staring at Zeus. He firmly grips his master bolt as he gets ready to vaporize me, but I don't move. If he wants to zap me he can because I'm leaving anyway. After everyone finally relaxes, I add to my previous statement by saying,
"Within good reason of course."
