The war raged, and I shot Death Eaters left to right. In the distance, I saw Shay and Dean fighting Death Eaters, and I ran towards them.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!" I SCREAMED, shooting at the Death Eater.

"Sara you're okay!" Shay cried.

Suddenly, everything went silent and a voice thundered throughout the castle.

"You have fought valiantly." said the high, cold voice, "Lord Voldemort knows how to value bravery. Yet you have sustained heavy losses. If you continue to resist me, you will all die, one by one. I do not wish this to happen. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a loss and a waste. Lord Voldemort is merciful. I command my forces to retreat immediately. You have one hour. Dispose of your dead with dignity. Treat your injured. I speak now, Harry Potter, directly to you. You have permitted your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. I shall wait for one hour in the Forbidden Forest. If, at the end of that hour, you have not come to me, have not given yourself up, then battle recommences. This time, I shall enter the fray myself, Harry Potter, and I shall find you, and I shall punish every last man, woman, and child who has tried to conceal you from me. One hour."

Shay, Dean and I looked at each other, lowering our wands as everyone became eerily silent.

"Let's go find everyone." I said softly.

We walked slowly towards the Great Hall, where I assumed everyone would be. We walked around the fallen bodies, and my heart hitched as I saw many familiar faces on the ground. When we reached the Great Hall, McGonagall was the one who first greeted me with a grim expression. "Sara, I'm sorry."

"Thank you. Wait, for what exactly...."

I looked behind her, and my whole world stopped for a moment. My heart froze, my breath hitched in my throat, I felt like I couldn't breath. My knees gave out, and I collapsed as Shay caught me.

"Sara-" Shay started.

I pulled myself out of his grasp and I ran forward, falling onto my knees, next to Remus' limp body. There was dried blood on him, and his eyes were open and glassy. Lifeless.

"Remus." I wheezed as I hunched forward, pressing my forehead to his chest. "Remus. Remmy."

I could hear people faintly speaking behind me, but I wasn't listening. But then I caught the word "Dolohov."

I looked up, my eyes red and swollen. "Dolohov?"

McGonagall nodded. "I was....there. It was Dolohov who....."

I looked back down at Remus, kissing him softly on his forehead. "Who else?" I asked quietly.

But I didn't need to wait for anyone to answer, because I was greeted with another gut punch, as I saw Tonks laying lifeless, with Ollie sobbing over her, and Fred not far away with the entire Weasley clan around him. I heaved out a great sob. I couldn't breath.

"Sara. Deep breaths Sara." Shay said thickly, his voice cracking slightly.

But our grieving was cut short when a loud voice rang out.

"Harry Potter is dead. He was killed as he ran away, trying to save himself while you lay down your lives for him. We bring you his body as proof that your hero is gone. The battle is won. You have lost half of your fighters. My Death Eaters outnumber you, and the Boy Who Lived is finished. There must be no more war. Anybody who continues to resist, man, woman, or child, will be slaughtered, as will every member of their family. Come out of the castle now, kneel before me, and you shall be spared. Your parents and children, your brothers and sisters will live and be forgiven, and you will join me in the new world we shall build together."
