I can't believe that Mr. Christian Smith is back in my life. Now for what to destroy me once again? To make me feel that I am unimportant? To again make me feel that, nobody loves me? Why Christian Why? I stood up with James' help just then, the CEO's assistant came running towards me.

"Miss. Emily, sir is requesting your presence."

As I felt my chest tighten and my breathing became more laboured, a sense of panic began to wash over me. I knew what was happening - another asthma attack. My heart racing, I made my way as quickly as I could to the nearest restroom. Once inside, I closed the door and leaned against the wall, trying to calm myself down. My breathing was ragged and shallow, and I could feel my hands starting to shake. With trembling fingers, I reached into my purse, searching for my inhaler. I knew it was in there somewhere, but in my panicked state, it felt like I was searching for a needle in a haystack. Finally, my fingers closed around the small canister, and I pulled it out with a sigh of relief. I raised it to my mouth and took a deep breath, feeling the cool mist spreading through my lungs. It was a familiar sensation - one that I had experienced countless times over the past seven years. But even though I knew what to expect, I couldn't help the tears that formed in the corners of my eyes as I rubbed them aggressively. I tried to stand up, but my legs felt weak and shaky, and I stumbled back against the wall. It was a scary moment, I tightly held onto my crisp white shirt, trying to steady myself. My heart was pounding so loud that I was afraid someone would hear it. After a few moments, I regained my composure and took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I realized that my mascara had smudged all over my face, making it look patchy and uneven. My once-perfect lipstick was now a messy blob, smeared all over my lips and chin. In short, I looked like a complete mess. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed, I quickly gathered myself and left the restroom, making sure that no one saw me. I hurriedly ran out of the office, hoping to avoid any awkward conversations or stares from my colleagues.

CHRISTIAN'S POINT OF VIEW.

As I stepped into the office building of 'The Smith Enterprises and Co.', I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was my first day as the acting CEO, a position I had been working towards for years. However, as I walked towards the elevator, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. Today marked the seventh anniversary of Emily leaving me without any explanation, leaving me shattered and confused.

Despite these feelings, I put on a smile and greeted everyone who walked by. I wanted to make a good impression on my first day as CEO. However, as I was about to step into the elevator, I received some unfortunate news. One of my employees had lost consciousness and needed medical attention.

Without hesitation, I instructed my assistant to bring the employee to me so that I could offer her a day of absence to recover. Even though it was my first day, I knew that taking care of my employees was a top priority.

But to my surprise, my assistant, Oliver, came back with a confused face, informing me that the girl who needed medical attention had suddenly run towards the exit. I found it odd and couldn't help but wonder why a person would do that. I began to think deeply about the incident while I continued with my work, signing files and attending to other matters. However, the incident kept playing on my mind. Who was that girl? Why did she run away? Somewhere, I knew that I had to get to the bottom of it.
