Dearest Ashlynn,
The salty spray dances on my face as I scribble this, the setting sun painting the Caribbean sky in hues I know you'd describe as "wildfire kisses and moonlit whispers." But even the most exotic sunset pales in comparison to the news I need to share, a secret that bubbles in my heart like a pot of Captain Grumpy beard's rum after a particularly rough storm.
Get ready, landlubber sis, because the anchor's been weighed, the sails unfurled, and this old sailor is heading north, straight for the misty embrace of Forks! Remember how you used to tease me about the sleepy Midwest? Well, prepare to eat your crow (no feathers, I promise, unless you've taken up some bizarre magic related to poultry), because I'm about to blow your tiny, enchanted socks off.
Yeah, you heard me right. Shane "Salty Dog" Draxton is trading in his Navy blues for your forest greens, swapping the endless ocean for the whisper of ancient pines. Don't blame Captain Grumpy beard, though. This wasn't some admiral's order or a pirate attack that got me shore-bound. Nope, the culprit is none other than you, my wild, moonlit sister, and your firecracker half-sis, Bella.
Your letters, Ash, they're more addictive than seagull eggs (trust me, I've tried them). Each page crackles with magic, with tales of talking trees, grumpy griffins, and fire-wielding sisters I barely recognize. Eldoria? It sounds like something out of a pirate's treasure map, a forbidden island brimming with secrets and spells. And to think, you and Bella are right there, conjuring potions and dancing with griffins while I'm stuck swabbing the deck!
But not for long, oh no. I managed to wrangle myself some shore leave, enough time to finally step into your enchanted world. I can practically hear the wind sighing through the trees, carrying the echo of your laughter and the crackle of Bella's fiery spells. I'm picturing us huddled around a fire, with you weaving tales of Eldoria's mysteries while I regale you with the most outlandish Navy stories (hold onto your broomsticks, you ain't heard nothin' yet!).
Don't worry, I won't just be another grumpy pirate looking for a tavern brawl. I'm ready to dive headfirst into your magic, to explore the hidden nooks of Eldoria and see the world through your moonlit eyes. Maybe I'll even learn a spell or two, enough to impress Captain Grumpybeard next time I return. You never know, he might even let me borrow the griffin for a test flight (don't tell him I said that, though).
So, dust off your spare room, prepare some of your grandma's famous stew (even better than seagull stew, no competition), and get ready for the biggest storm to hit Forks since that time you accidentally summoned a rain cloud during your birthday party. Your sailor brother is coming home, Ash, and this time, he's bringing enough stories to last a lifetime. I can't wait to see the look on your face when you see me standing on your doorstep, a suitcase full of sea salt and a heart overflowing with pride and excitement.
Until then, keep weaving your magic, little sister. And remember, even when the ocean keeps us apart, the bond between us is stronger than any kraken's grip. I'll see you soon, under the whispering pines and the watchful gaze of Eldoria's ancient magic.
With all the love and a bit of salty spray,
Your brother,
Shane
P.S. Don't tell Captain Grumpy beard about the griffin. He still thinks unicorns are just narwhals with bad PR. But if you can manage to turn his hat into a particularly grumpy seagull, well, let's just say I wouldn't blame you one bit.
Ashlynn's POV
Sunlight, a rare and unexpected visitor in Forks, slanted through the kitchen window, painting squares of gold on the worn linoleum floor. I sat huddled at the table, hunched over a dusty grimoire, the smell of ancient paper and brewing herbs clinging to the air. Bella, having exhausted the possibilities of napping in every sunbeam, was attempting to levitate a teaspoon with a furrowed brow and a muttered incantation.
