Chapter 22 : Hammer and tuna

Alone in the streets, illuminated only by a moon, the two women walk side by side.

Kaen- Where did you take her ?

Savyna, reluctant- ... To my boss.

Kaen- You have a boss ? How organised is this ? And why is Phil so important ?

Savyna- Who's Phil ?

Kaen- ... The Flyhn you hunted and captured ?

Savyna- Oh, so that was her name.

Kaen- WAS !?

Savyna- Chill she's not dead, they need her alive for the ransom.

Kaen- RANSOM !?

Savyna- Yeah I don't know much more than that. *uncomfortable* My ... "boss" never told me more, even when... Anyway, she should stay safe until we get to her.

Kaen, worried- Okay, I guess that's nice to hear. But we need to get her out before she gets exchanged.

Savyna- Right. I'll show you to the entrance of the headquarters.

Kaen- Wait, we need to make a detour. I have an idea.

The crossed work-hammer and sword drawn on the placard are barely visible in the night, but Kaen knows where she's going. She climbs the two stairs in one step, and opens the front door with her keys. Two steps in and she knocks on the door to the left. With a groan, the door opens and Ribanur squints as his head pokes out.

Kaen- We need Phil's hammer.

Ribanur- Uhhh I'm not sure I should let you take it... She.. she paid for it.

Kaen- Yeah no, that's the point, we're bringing it to her.

Ribanur- Sure I guess. It's uhh over there *he points to the storage room* ... Wait, who's we ?

The sleepy haze he was in seems to dissipate when he looks around and his sight lands on Savyna.

Ribanur- uuuhhhh Kaen ? .. Who's that ?

Kaen- Don't worry, she's with me.

Kaen goes into the room to find the hammer.

Ribanur lifts an eyebrow- With you huh ?

Savyna just avoids eye contact. Kaen comes out of the room with the weapon.

Kaen- wat

Ribanur- Oh, by the way I made you a sandwich when you left, I wasn't sure when you last ate and when you'd come back so...

Ribanur lifts a plate and hands Kaen a sandwich.

Kaen- Thank you so much *MONCH* hmmm yuss tuna cream.

As she prepares to leave, she goes back to give a hug to Ribo.

She then grabs the hammer in one hand, Savyna's hand in the other and the sandwich in her mouth, and they leave.

After a few minutes of walking, Kaen has finished her sandwich. She's breathing heavily and keeps changing how she holds the hammer. Savyna clearly notices and takes it from Kaen's hands.

Kaen- Hey !

Savyna, weighing the hammer- You're really that weak huh...

Kaen- I'm... just... not that strong.

Savyna- How do you wield that sword then ?

Kaen- Ribanur made it special for me, it's lighter than the normal ones. And I still need both hands.
