As the sun sits just above the horizon painting the city in a soft yellow light, Kaen leaves her room stretching and yawning at the same time.

Ribanur- Morning sunshine.

Kaen- Hey Ribo.

Kaen looks at the table on the porch outside and sees the other two.

Kaen- You guys are both already up ?

Phil- I mean... yeah ?

Savyna- We didn't come home past midnight to fall on our bed drunk and pass out.

Kaen- ...

Phil- Hey ! Don't be mean like that !

Savyna- I'm just telling the truth. Don't like it ? Change it.

Kaen- Sorry, I just got news that ... I just wanted to enjoy my last few days in the capital that's all.

Phil- WHAT ? Are you dying ??

Savyna, frowning at Kaen- ...

Kaen, to Phil- What !? No !

Phil- But you said-

Kaen- I need to go do something outside the city, then I'll come back.

Phil, reassured- Ahhhh. ... Wait, what are you going to do ?

Kaen- I just need to help a friend. They're having an issue and can't go check it themselves because they're busy, so I'll go for them.

Ribanur- Is that the grey Nekali again ?

Kaen, defensive- I left them years ago, no !

Savyna, shocked, aggressive, and disgusted- You've worked for Silver Paw ?!?

Kaen- It was a long time ago okay ? I was... in a different state back then.

Ribanur slides a few fried eggs, toast and some bacon on a plate and puts it on the table in front of Kaen.

Ribanur, calmly- I'm glad to hear that it's not them, but who is it then ?

Kaen- It's Bucket. From the Well.

Ribanur- Beatrice ?

Kaen, unsure- ... I think that's her real name, yeah. Anyway, she's had delays in her shipment of grains recently, and the last one never arrived but she's busy and so she asked me for help to see what's wrong.

Savyna- Can't she hire someone to do it ?

Kaen- She did. It's me. I'm being hired.

Ribanur- So you'll get paid ? Did you tell Ortelius yet ? How many days of school are you going to miss ?

Kaen- I uhhh... didn't tell him yet, and hummm... I haven't thought of that.

Ribanur, smiling- I know. That's why I do.

---

Near the end of the breakfast, a man and a woman approach the shop-front, and Ribanur leaves the table to go greet them.

Ribanur- Welcome, can I help you ?

Woman- Yes, we heard you make good locks, we want a new one for a cave storage room. It would-

Ribanur- Have you checked with the city's locksmith ?

Woman- We've had recommendations to come here instead.

Ribanur- *sigh* I see. So, is it for the door to the cellar or is it for one of the boxes ?

They start exchanging information about the details of this order, and eventually Ribanur writes everything down on a piece of paper and gives the couple an estimated time of completion. Then they start gossiping.
