Only a 'Friendly Picnic Date'

Third Person POV:

Sage woke up the next morning stressing about the dream she had about Reyna. Sage continued to get ready for the day. She was out in her normal clothes but she wanted to wear something special. She decided on a necklace that her grandma gave her. Sage sighed and prepared herself before she left her room and headed to the main hangout lobby of the VALORANT station. Sage met up with Jett to avoid talking to Reyna. She wanted to tell someone about her feelings, but she didn't know who, she didn't know if she trusted childish Jett, because she knew that Jett would probably scream and go tell Reyna. When Sage met up with Jett they talked about random things but Jett kept noticing the troubled look on Sage's face. "What's wrong Sage?" Jett asked curiously. "Oh, I uhh.." Sage began to turn red but quickly made up an excuse "I just remembered I have to tell.. Killjoy something about.. Her bots."

Sage quickly got up and searched for KJ and approached her. Sage took a deep breath in before talking to her. "Killyjoy.. Can I trust you to keep a secret..?" Sage asked nervously. "Ja! Of course Sage." Killjoy kindly replied. "I think I like someone.." Sage stressfully tells her. "Oh well, that's good?" Killjoy happily says. "Do you wanna tell me who?" KJ curiously asks. Sage pauses debating to tell her.. "Reyna.." Sage says quietly and looks down at the floor, embarrassed. Sage blushes. KJ jumps for joy. "Be quiet!" Sage snaps at her. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, especially.." KJ's eyes focus on the person who's approaching them. "Reyna~," KJ says and smiles at Sage. "Well, I best get going." KJ begins to walk away and waves bye to Sage as she leaves. Sage turns around noticing the presence of the person behind her. There Reyna is. "Hey Sage!" Reyna greets her. "Oh hi.." Sage nervously replied. "Wanna hang out today?" Reyna happily asks. Sage's mind wanders back to the dream she had. Sage begins to feel her face turn red. Sage is only focused on what happened in her dream. Until a familiar voice brought her back "Sage?". Sage remembers Reyna was just asking a question before she spaced out. "Oh, yeah sure," Sage replied. "I want to take you out someplace, I think it will be nice. I'll take you there at like 6 pm," Reyna explains. Sage made a mental note for 7 pm and thought about what it could be. Sage stressfully tries to find a way to take away from Reyna. "Well, I have to go do things. I'll see you later!" Sage quickly walks away. She goes to the restroom to calm down once again. Sage makes sure nobody is in the restroom before leaning up against the wall and trying to get her dream out of her head.

After calming down a little Sage returns to her room. She makes a snack and then goes to eat it on the couch. She watches TV after and waits until 5 to get ready. She decided to dress up and take her long flowy hair down. Sage picked out a silver necklace with a matching pair of bracelets that had butterflies on them. She also wore a light teal dress that was not too long and excessive. Just like Reyna said, at 6 pm when Sage finished getting ready she heard a knock at her door. She nervously approached thinking she was overdressed. Sage opened the door and saw Reyna who was also wearing a magenta top and a black skirt she had on gold jewelry that had silver diamonds on it, Sage smiled in awe. They both were looking at each other's outfits. They both couldn't help but slightly blush because of how pretty one another was. "Damn.." Reyna said under her breath because of how pretty Sage looked. "Well let's get going," Sage says, excited about where they are gonna go. "Oh, yeah follow me. I will be driving us there," Reyna begins to walk and Sage follows next to her.

They descend to the ground level before stepping out into the cool summer air through the sliding glass doors. The afternoon held high temperature leaving a lingering feeling of heat. The sky holds an orange hue from the reflecting light of the setting sun. Reyna is a stride ahead as she approaches the fully restored Chevy Camaro that sits parked in front of the VALORANT Station. Sunlight reflects on the pristine purple paint that decorates the car. It was an obvious choice for Reyna when she was picking out colors. Reyna elegantly moves to the left side of the car as she holds the door open for Sage to allow herself into the vehicle. Despite the classic look on the outside, the inside of the car is fully adapted to the modern expectations of a daily driver. The faint smell of many different foods trails behind the aroma of lavender fresheners.

Reyna rounds the front bumper of the car slowly. Sage briefly glances at Reyna not making the staring obvious. Reyna's hair flows through a slight breeze before she opens her own door to sit in the plush leather seat. She takes a glance at Sage before she ignites the engine inside the car. It is not hot enough outside for AC so Reyna rolls down the windows before she pulls out of the narrow driveway that complements the shape of the building entrance. As they turn onto the main road the wind floods through the windows and circulates throughout the car. The wind flowed through their hair.

They eventually get to the picnic spot. It had a beautiful cherry blossom tree and a lake nearby with some birds drinking from a fountain. The pink from the cherry blossom tree which the lights reflected off made the atmosphere very romantic. Flowers were drifting in the wind which fell from the tree. They both walk down a path that ends at a laid-out picnic blanket with food laid out, the food containing a fruit/vegetable bowl, sandwiches, tamales, kebabs, and many beverages. Sage's eyes went wide at how beautiful the scene was. Reyna smiled proudly because she set the whole thing up. "Wow, this is beautiful, Reyna!" Sage said happily. "Thank you!" Reyna replies before grabbing Sage's hand and walking her over to the blanket and signaling Sage to sit down. "I made all this food for us!" Reyna says as she stares at the food hungrily. They both sit down on the picnic blanket. They both begin to make plates of food, they grab a piece of nearly everything. Before they both eat Reyna asks, "So what's your real name?". Sage paused, she hadn't been called her real name in a long time. "Wei Ling Ying," Sage replied. "Mines, Zyanya," Reyna says. They began to eat their food. In between they talk about other things, getting to know each other more and more. Sage couldn't help it but a question slipped out. "So do you like anyone yet..?" Sage said, but then realized immediately after and became nervous and feared Reyna would feel uncomfortable. Reyna did not want Sage to know because she probably didn't like her back, she was unaware of all the signs Sage showed. "No, I don't like anyone yet, plus I have not gotten to know everybody." Reyna lied and made up an excuse. "Oh well, that's reasonable," Sage replied disappointed. Sage needed to tell Reyna what had happened earlier, and she needed to get the fact that Sage liked Reyna off her chest. "Reyna I need to tell you something.." Sage nervously tried to find her words. "I had a dream, earlier this morning. You were in it and.." Sage begins to sweat and she debates not even telling her. Reyna just looks at Sage in a caring and curious way. "I imagined we did some things and it made me very happy, I think I really like you, Reyna!" Sage nervously stated. She closed her eyes and waited for Reyna's response. The both of them began to blush which was easy to see by the well-lit area and the glow of the rising moon up in the sky. "I-" Reyna is shocked and pauses...

NOTES: We are trying to improve our writing by making this one a lot more descriptive and detailed so it is very long and we left it on a cliffhanger. We hope that this was an interesting chapter to read. Happy New Year!
