--------------Location: The city. --------------
-----------A few hours before Rusty joined thunderclan-----------
It was midnight. The moonlight shone brightly above the dark city. In the vast stillness of the buildings, a dark alley broke the silence with sounds of deformed crying and incessant battles
In the alley, two felines where standing, surrounded by mantis-like spirits. The curses cried, with their deformed voices souding like a broken, distorted choir
"DoN'T Le aVe Me. . ." sob . . . sob. . . "P-pLeAse. . . DON'T LEAVE ME!" the voice cried, quickly being silenced by a spear piercing its exposed eye. Puple blood gushed out and staining the body of his assailant. The moonlight revealed the agressor: A cat with red pelt; brown ropes adorned with talismans all over his arms, legs, and on his neck, similar to a collar.
"You look concerned, Jake. Something on your mind?" asked the feline behind the red cat. Black fur, with a few white spots on his body, and long strands of fur covering his eyes. It was Daniel, his business partner.
Jake looked at the feline, dodging the attack of one of the mantis curses ". . . You must have noticed too, right? Those are not cursed spirits. They aren't Shikigami, either." Earlier, the mantis swarm attacked a couple. However one thing that catched jake's attention was that the couble was startled by the assailants. Regular cats could not see cursed spirits. Some could feel the negative energy, but that couple saw them. Jake could tell they didn't had enough cursed energy to see the spirits, not even feel them- but someway, they did.
Daniel clicked his tongue "Tsk . . . something smells fishy, indeed. Let's finish them. After this, we can investigate properly." The cat said, shooting at a few flying mantis with a Desert Eagle pistol.
Jake had many contacts around the city. He told his wife and friends that he would be away for a business trip. Not exactly a lie, as his true job was to exorcise cursed spirits that appeared within the city.
Jake could not use cursed energy. He was far from being a strong sorcerer. However, thanks to his contacts, and the knowledge he gained with talltail, he learned how to use cursed weapons and talismans. The ropes and spear are grade 2 cursed tools that allowed him to have basic control of cursed energy, just enough to perform basic sorcery, such as barriers, simple shikigami and body reinforcement. He could deal with grade 4, 3 or 2 cursed spirits. Semi-first grade, if he had some of his sorcerer friends at his side.
Those mantis where at least grade 3. Not too weak, but not strong either. "NO! DON'T ABANDON ME AGA-" Silence. After killing the last one of them, Jake noticed that the corpses started to melt into a goo-like substance. Raising his eyebrow, he walked towards the goo, kneeling with one leg, and starting to inspect the liquid cautiously "It looks like blood. . ." the cat commented. He was about to touch it, before sensing a spike of negative energy emanating from the goo. The ginger quickly took a step back, alarmed "This . . . is not good." He turned to the other feline "We need to tell Pine about this."
"Jake, come here, quick." He heard Daniel call out to him. The ginger quickly rose, walking towards the black cat, looking at the spot he was looking at. It was traces from cursed energy; from a powerful Sorcerer.
"Do you think. . . it was a curse user?" Jake asked, trying to inspect closely the remaining traces
"Or a special grade curse." Both cats shivered at the thought. Special grades have this name because they are one of a kind; without the proper caution they could destroy half - if not the entirety - of the city. As of today, jake can only see two people being able to go toe-to-toe against a special grade curse: Pine, the founder of the 'City sorcerers', and Scourge, the leader of Bloodclan. Altough the latter is a curse user mob boss; and would only help them with a big payment. Maybe he and other sorcerers could also fight, if needed, but casualties where unavoidable.
