"So?" Hissed bluestar, face inches away from Rusty. Smudge was cowering behind Rusty, intimidated by the older cat.
Rusty gulps, lowering his ears before the intimidating aura emanating from Bluestar. "We are not a threat to your clan." He said, looking down to his trembling foot
"You threaten our clan when you take our food." She answers, "You have a lot of food on your home. You come here just to hunt for sport. We hunt and fight to survive."
The truth within bluestar's words hit Rusty like a thorn, and he understood her anger. He stopped trembling, held Smudge's hand, looked directly in bluestar's eyes, and then said: "I haven't thought about this that way, I am sorry." He started, respectfully. "We won't hunt here again."
Bluestar stared at the ginger cat for a few more moments, and then she calmed herself "you are not like the other City cats, Rusty."
Rusty sighed in Relief as he felt once again Bluestar's approval in her eye. Both Bluestar and Lionheart exchanged glances, wich grabbed Rusty's attention. What was going through the mind of the two sorcerers? "Is it survival around here really that difficult?"
"Our territory covers only a part of the forest," answers Bluestar "We compete against other clans for what we have. There are also the Cursed spirits, some are way stronger than that one you fough. And, this year, with the delay of the renewal season, there will be prey shortage."
Rusty thought for a moment, deciding to ask a question that has been on his mind since his first interaction with Graypaw "What do you mean with cursed spirits? And . . . Graypaw said that you are 'Sorcerers' . . . d-do you use magic?" he asks with innocence. Smudge looks at him weirdly, but also curious as he saw that it was a possibility
Lionheart stept forward "We do not use magic; we use Jujutsu." He explained, holding his hand up as a golden energy started to surround his fingers "In jujutsu, we use cursed energy. It's a power source aligned with negative emotions in order to fuel our techniques and body, as well as other kinds of sorcery."
Smudge frowned "But. . .isn't that Evil? If it appears from negative emotions. . ."
"Evil is not a black and white concept, child." Said whitestorm, "In this world, we use fire against Fire. As you have seen," The white tom said, looking at Rusty's wounds "Cursed spirits are invulnerable to most types of weapons. Only attacks and weapons imbued with cursed energy can even dream of hurting one. That's why our clan train our young to be able to master the ways of Jujutsu, so we can survive."
"Is your clan big?" The ginger asked again, eyes wide open
"Big enough," it was bluestar's turn to explain, "Our territory can sustain us, but there isn't much prey left.
"So. . .you're all. . . Sorcerers?" Smudge asked. He couldn't help but feel infected by his friend's curiosity from the mystical world they have just found themselves in
Lionheart nodded "Some are sorcerers. Some are yet too young, others too old. And others are too busy to hunt, as they are taking care of kits."
"And you live all together and share preys?" Rusty questioned, feeling a sense of guilt from the easy life he had
Bluestar eyed Lionheart, who firmly returned the stare. Finally, she gazed at the red cat again and said, "Maybe you could discover that on your own. How about joining Thunderclan?"
Rusty and Smudge where both so surprised they couldn't even talk
She continued: "If you come, you will train alongside Graypaw to become a Sorcerer from Thunderclan."
