Rusty and Smudge were together in the kitchen, chatting as they where taking their breakfast. Rusty would always look out at the window, gazing at the woods. Smudge was uneasy, as he tried to get his friend's attention "are you really . . . considering to go to the forest?"
The ginger looks at Smudge, and then looks down, a hint if guilt on his face. Smudge sighed, giving his friend a small smile "If that's what you want . . . I won't stop you." Rusty looks at Smudge, eyes wide with surprise "But, please . . . visit me once in a while, will you?" Smudge gave a weak smile, with Rusty nodding, getting up from his seat and walking to his friend to hug him "I promise, Smudge. I will always visit you." He felt relieved, that his friend was accepting. Hopefully the clan would allow him to visit Smudge once in a while. Even if not . . . well, he is sure he can escape once or twice.

Both of the felines passed the day together, visiting old friends, playing in the park, strolling trough old locations. Just like in their childhood, the memories weightened his heart, but he was aready decided, he woudn't step back on his decision.
He checked his phone once again. 1 AM. Three hours from now on, Lionheart would be waiting for him. Rusty took a big breath, wondering if he should bring something with him. Clothes, a bit of food, maybe? But. . . would wild cats enjoy processed food? It woudn't hurt to try . . . he heard someone knocking on the door. He slowly walked to the front of the house, opening the door, and seeing Smudge on the other side. He smiled. "Rusty. . . I just want to say . . . that I will cherish all the time we spent together."
Rusty chuckled "Im not going to die, Smudge, I'm just going to. . . Move to a new home."
Smudge eyed the ground, with a serious expression "But you can die out there. . ."
The ginger's expression got serious, holding smudge's hand gently "I won't die. I am going to be careful, and I'm going to become the strongest." he gave a cheeky smile as he gently punched the other's shoulder
Smudge chuckled, looking at Rusty, as if watching someone dear to him for the last time. He took a deep breath, and said in a slow tone "I love you."
Rusty blinked, not understanding the true message of the words, and then nods "I love you too, Smudge, you will always be my best friend."
Smudge looked a bit taken aback, with a pained expression crossing his face for a few seconds, but he quickly composed himself, giving him a weak smile "Until next time, then." He said, slowly turning back and returning to his home
Rusty nods "until next time." For some reason, the ginger cat felt bad . . . but he shoudn't get distracted by it, he should be readying himself. He closed the door and returned to his room, grabbing his school backpack and readying himself with a few clothes and supplies.
Two hours later, he was ready to leave his home. He had aready written a note to his parents. He hoped it would be sufficient for them not be concerned with him. He started to make his way towards the forest, gazing at the rising sun in the horizon. . . until he heard a voice behind him
"Rusty, where are you going?"
The ginger looked back in alarm, seeing his father behind him. He panicked, thinking he had lost his chance to enter the mystical forest.
His father looked at the forest, and then at Rusty. He stood silent for a few seconds, and then Rusty saw a bit of concern on his eyes "Are you going to the forest?"
He took a deep breath, gulping "I . . . Yes. I met wild cats there, they told me wonderful things. . ." he started "T-they told me I have something – I mean, I KNOW I have something inside me! A 'cursed energy'" Rusty noticed his father's surprised glare. He continued "Those cats can do incredible things! They where-" "Sorcerers." Jake said, surprising Rusty
