**beep** (alarm buzzing)

Yoon Jeonghan, like any other normal 28 y/o, felt irritated with the alarm buzzing but also like a normal person he knew it was time to start a day.

He woke up and raised the curtains to welcome sunshine in his apartment. He looked outside and felt amazed, the weather was good today. It has been raining for a few days but today it seems like a nice day.

After watching out for some time, he went inside the bathroom to shower. Afterward, he got dressed up and done with his breakfast, he locked the apartment and went on his way to 'Cafe Serenity' where he worked as a Barista.

He likes being a Barista. When the aroma of coffee washed over him, he felt strangely relaxed. The environment of working at a cafe makes him feel like a normal person. Even though he is living a "not-so-normal life".

Well, Jeonghan is actually a part-time barista at the cafe. He only goes to the cafe when he has free time or if he is on break and Yoon Jeonghan hardly catches a break because he is a full-time undercover cop. He gets more busy in completing his missions and till now he has a 100% success rate. He never failed for once. His repute in the Police Department grows with every mission, and so is the difficulty level of the mission.

He enjoys his work as an undercover cop 'cause it gives him an adrenaline rush. Creating a new identity and living in character, he likes doing it. You can say by now he is an expert in deceiving anyone by showing fake emotions from a fake character he is playing.

He completed his last mission successfully last week and is now on break for a month. That's why he is heading toward the cafe for his relaxing day in an aromatic environment.

After a 15-minute drive, Jeonghan finally reached the Cafe. He smiled in contentment, pulled out the keys, and opened the cafe. The moment he entered, the aroma of coffee caught up to him.

"WOW, I will never be going to get bored of this aroma" Jeonghan sighed in peace.

After entering, he quickly changed into his Barista uniform and started preparing for the day.

After 10 minutes, Lee Jihoon, the cafe owner came.

"Good Morning," Jihoon said in his monotone voice.

Jeonghan by now is used to Jihoon's not-so-enthusiastic voice.

"Good Morning Jihoon-ah," He said with the brightest smile.

Jihoon just gave him an uninterested look and went into the backroom for change.

Jeonghan just smiled and continued his preparation. Don't get the wrong idea of Jihoon, he just seems like he is uninterested in everything and does not want to get bothered with anything.

But people who know him, know how caring and understanding he is. One of those person is Jeonghan himself.

He met Jihoon 3 years ago when he was still new in the field of undercover cop. He was on break and wanted to work at Cafe. It was one of his dreams, If he was not a cop, he would definitely work as a full-time Barista and eventually own his cafe.

Well after trying at many cafes for the job, they rejected him because he was asking for flexible timing and immediate leaves when required. Nobody wants an employee like that. Right? But Jihoon was different, he told him his requests, and rather than questioning him, he gave him an amusing look like he was trying to find the answer on his face, like why would this man want this job and making absurd demands. But after looking at me for a while, maybe he got the idea that he could not reveal the reason behind it, and as unbothered as he is, he never forced me to tell him why he disappeared and reappeared without any explanation. He got lucky to have him as my boss. But after some time, we became friends, we talked and shared some of the bizarre incidents and handled troublesome customers together. So, he is thankful to have him in his life. He may look cold but deep inside he is a warm person who cares about him. Anyway, he doesn't have many people who genuinely care about him, he is glad that Jihoon is there for him.
