The news of this incident spread like a fire. So, it was natural for the news of Jeonghan's death to reach Joshua's ears.

It was 10.30 pm when Joshua got the call from one of the colleagues, who explained what happened. Joshua was in denial for the whole conversation. He doesn't want to accept that his best friend is gone. He argued and cut the call.

He needs to confirm this bit of information himself. So, he immediately drove the department, where Jeonghan worked. Breathing shallowly, he made his way to the room of Jeonghan's senior, Jin-Seok, who was responsible for assigning him this mission.

After taking some deep breaths, as tears were on the verge of streaming out his eyes, he knocked at the door and went in.

Jin-Seok upon seeing Joshua there, was not that surprised. A part of him knows why he is there, looking devastated.

Joshua's eyes brimming with tears as he asked, "What is this news about Jeonghan? It is not true. Right? He is alive... He will be back anytime... I'm here to confirm that it is just a big fat joke... I know..."

Jin-Seok looked at him apologetically, "Jisoo, this is not a joke. Jeonghan is indeed dead."

Joshua snapped, "No... He is fine... he can't be dead... you're mistaken. He is playing a prank... nothing more..."

Jin-Seok could hear the desperation in Joshua's voice that how he wanted this news to be untrue. But, unfortunately, it is true.

He calmly said, "Jisoo, get a hold. Jeonghan is gone. He is not coming back. You have to accept it."

Joshua was now taking sharp breaths. He tries to control his emotions but he can't.

So, he growled, "It is your fault that he is gone. You sent him alone on this mission knowing how dangerous it was. He came alive from there and you sent him again... to die. This time you should have sent someone with him inside... you know how reckless he gets... but No... all of you just waited for him to die..."

Jin-Seok was speechless. As a senior officer, he should have done a better job but he failed at it.

He weakly said, "I didn't know that would escalate like this. I thought it would be fine... I had not anticipated that he would choose to die..."

Joshua impatiently spoke again, "Of course, he would choose to die... He was in lo--"

He stopped in the mid-sentence. It was useless now to even speak about it.

"I can't sit here and think about all this. Tell me the location and I will go there. I want to check it myself... I won't believe it until I see his body," Joshua firmly said, he took a shaky breath and continued, "And if you can't give the address, then I will get it from someone else... but I'm going there... right fucking now."

Jin-Seok closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead, "You can't go there. That whole house is on fire and they trying to extinguish the fire."

Before Joshua could say something, Jin-Seok added, "You can come with us. We are leaving in the morning, by then fire would be quenched and we can go inside. Take a team with you, if you want... we need to collect the samples anyway to identify the bodies..."

Joshua sniffled, pointedly looked at him, and stomped out of the room.

He left the department with a heavy heart went back to his apartment and waited for the morning to come soon.

The next morning, they all reached the location around 11.00 am. It was a terrifying sight. Everything in their sight was burnt down. There was rubble everywhere. The remaining walls were crumbling little by little. The greenery there turned into ashes. That beautiful house is nothing but a horror house right now.
