TASK FORCE X: A SUICIDE SQUAD

CHAPTER FIVE: OBJECTIVE: TAKE OUT BANE

SANTA PRISCA, PEÑA DURO, 1990:
"After the side effects of the pit came to an end, I started to remember things clearly, I remembered everything and how the league used me as a puppet", Bane explained, "One day, I will get my revenge on that Bitch Talia and I will give Ra's a date worse than death", he continued as The Squad listened to his story. "And how did you manage to build a Lazarus Pit here?", Black Spider asked Bane, "pure knowledge from over time", he responded. "Now!", Harley shouted as she ran toward Bane firing both her pistols at him, "Harley!", Ivy shouted, as Bane picked up Harley by her throat with his hand and tossed her away, as she hit the ground hard, coughing. Black Spider jumped to attack Bane, however Bane caught his first and punched him in the face. That's where Deadshot came in, opening fire, however Bane's armour caused the bullets to bounce off. "Fuck sake, Waller...", Deadshot said, as he proceeded to fire at Bane, with the bullets having no impact.

Suddenly, a manhole had opened in the ground, with Killer Croc climbing out of it, facing Bane. Croc charged directly for Bane, punching him across the room, so that Bane had flew across the floor.

In pain, Bane pushed a button on his hand, in which his veins became more visible, and green. His muscles enlarged, and in moments he became a lot bigger and angrier. "Holy, shit!", Harley yelled.

Bane and Killer Croc charged at each other, brutally punching one an other, "the tubes!", Deadshot yelled, as Croc ripped a tube out of Bane, as venom sprayed everywhere, "you think you're the first to try and cut the venom supply to my body?", Bane questioned, as he punched Killer Croc in the chest, as Croc grasped onto his fist, snapping his teeth into Bane, attempting to bite him, as Bane grasped onto Croc's throat, and tossing him over his body, whilst Croc managed to take another tube out of Bane.

When Croc hit the ground, Bane turned however noticed blood and venom were squirting out of his hand, so Croc reacted quickly, tackling Bane, and scratching his knee with his claw, however this not only weakened Bane, but enraged him with a burst of adrenaline, as Bane picked Croc up again and threw him through a wall, crashing into pipes, causing them to burst with sewer water spraying everywhere. The team looked at Croc, as he fell on his back, barely conscious. "Is he...?", Harley questioned, "don't say that", Deadshot said, when suddenly Black Spider leaped at Bane, then being thrown off, so Killer Moth stepped in throwing a grenade at Bane, however Bane caught the grenade when gas began to fill the room shooting out from the grenade. "Everyone, out!", Deadshot ordered, "wait, what?!", Harley wondered, "I said go!", Deadshot told her as he fired at Bane, who was slightly weakened more by the gas grenade, however had tossed the grenade, with the gas still shooting out. Deadshot made his way over to Croc, with the water spraying over the two of them, whilst Deadshot tried to cover his nose and mouth to protect himself from the gas.

Deadshot struggled to carry Croc, as Croc attempted to help out by loosely walking forwards. As the gas risen, The Squad managed to escape through the elevator, whereas Bane struggled.

As the team reached the surface, they were met with Bane's militia as they opened fire at the squad so the squad fought back. Taking cover behind a wall, Deadshot said, "we've taken care of Bane, we need to get out and find that Plane we talked about", when suddenly Harley said, "err..where's the elevator gone?", as the team made a run for it, shooting all enemies that came their way.

Suddenly, Harley stepped out of cover with both her pistols, as she shot repeatedly at every single enemy coming their way, as Deadshot covered her from behind. After a large number of Bane's troops had been killed, Harley picked up two of their rifles and said, "let's light this place up", as she held a rifle in each hand, shooting everything that came in her way, with bullets flying across the room, dropping bodies all at once.

However, unknown to them, Rick Flag and his men were at the other side of the wall, scoping the base out. Flag covered the squad, shooting Bane's men from the opposite direction, "who the fuck's that?", Harley asked, "probably isn't a friendly", Deadshot responded.

After the squad had taken down near enough all of Bane's men, with some retreating, they reunited with Flagg, "is he dead?", Flag questioned, looking unimpressed, "which one?", Harley responded, then Flagg said, "nope", as he saw Bane striding towards them. Flag aimed his gun at Bane and pulled the trigger, however he had run out of ammo, "Shit!", he yelled. As Flag then pulled out a shot gun from his back, and equipped heavy shells from his belt, and warned Bane, "Bane, stand down, you're outnumbered!", he shouted, however Bane only began to charge at them. "Thought I'd be nice", Flag said as he shot at Bane, stepping backwards, reloading constantly with heavy shells. Eventually, the force of the shot gun knocked Bane onto his knees. Flag shot again a few more times, as Bane was now very weak. "This is your last chance Bane", Flag told him, "oh, grow up!", Harley shouted as she aimed her gun at Bane, "stand down!", Flag ordered as his men aimed their guns at Harley, when before they knew it, everyone's guns were aimed at each other. "Drop the gun Harley", Flag said, "sure, you first", Harley responded, "okay...why don't we all just calm down", Flagg suggested, as he and Harley stared at each other deep in the eyes. "Pathetic", they heard, as they all turned to Bane. "You and your stupid task forces can't even work together...no wonder you've had three attempts", Bane said to Flagg, as Deadshot commented, "oh yeah, Flagg...you're old buddy Killer Moth here told us that there was a squad sent here before". Flag felt a little guilty in this moment, as he ordered his men to stand down. "Stand down, that's an order", he told them, "but sir..", a soldier responded, "I said stand down", Flag ordered.

Flag lowered his gun, "alright...you wanna know the truth?", Flag asked them, "let it out", Harley told him. "We were using you guys as a tool to get onto the island, so we could take out Bane, but it looks like we were wrong. You managed to infiltrate Bane's base and almost took him out, you guys did better than anything we've done here", Flag admitted , "Even after you took us out and left me in the jungle, you guys continued the mission and made us look the fool", Flag directed at Ivy and Deadshot, "at the end of the day, you guys were the heroes", Flagg told them. "Oh please, heroes?!", Harley yelled. "If you wanted a team of superheroes, why didn't ya just go capture Batman?", Harley questioned as Flagg responded, "oh yeah, and have you ever captured Batman?", "I have actually", Harley responded, "yeah...right", Flag said. "No, I'm serious, hey!", Harley defended her truth, in which everyone found hard to believe.

After the squad had captured Bane, they headed to one of the towns and stopped by a bar for a while. Whilst the squad had drinks, Flag wandered off to a pay phone behind the bar, and made a call.

"Waller, it's Flag", Flag said, "we've got Bane...he's...detained", he told her, as Bane was tied up in the back of a van, using vines from Ivy, as well as both his hands and feet cuffed together using hand cuffs. "Mission accomplished then, I'll send a team out to pick you up at the drop off point", Waller responded, "alright I'll rally up the squad", Flag told her.

SOMETIME LATER, BELLE REVE, LOUISIANA:
After returning to Belle Reve, the Squad were greeted by Amanda Waller as they walked off of the place. "Welcome back to the States", Waller greeted them, "congratulations, you've officially knocked ten years off your sentences", Waller announced, as Floyd said, "it would have been nice to know that there were two task force's sent over there", then Waller looked over his shoulder, seeing Bane being marched over to her. "Welcome back Bane", Waller said, as Bane didn't respond, "get him outta here", Waller told the soldiers as they took Bane away.

Sometime later, Floyd Lawton, back in his orange prison uniform, sat at a desk with Amanda Waller and Rick Flag. "We've reviewed your performance over in Santa Prisca, and we have come to a decision that you are free to make contact with your daughter, whilst you're serving time", Waller informed him, as Floyd couldn't believe what he heard.

It had finally come to the time where Floyd made contact with his daughter, Zoe, who ran towards him as they put their arms around each other, whilst the guard's waited outside a room, giving them space.

Meanwhile, Harley and Ivy sat in the canteen, as Ivy stuffed her throat down with Ice Cream. "Well...at least it's not Arkham, and the Ice Cream is good", Harley said to Ivy, as Ivy sat miserably, both in their orange prison jumpsuits. "Hey, cheer up will ya Pam, just thinking of all the adventures we're gonna go on with these guys, I mean...we had fun didn't we?", Harley said sounding innocent as Ivy smirked.

After the events had blown over, the squad were all treated fairly and if not, better than most average prisoners, however Bane had his own cell built just for him with reinforced bars, so he couldn't break out of, or be broken out of this time..
