"Well, back to cursing again."

Tomoe greets the familiar darkness again. The same from being petrified for over 4000 years.

"I'm still alive." Tomoe reminded herself, a relieving and wonderful thought.

She has no doubt that Senku and the team will figure something out. But if they can't, Tomoe has no regrets.

After all, she's been in these situations a couple of times, something she will never admit. But to die protecting her little cubs, she is happy that her life served a purpose.

Just as she was gonna start thinking back on her life, a sharp pain jolted her back to present self.

"Fuck! What the hell?" Tomoe cursed as the sharp pain kept coming, like a constant stream of waves.

What is going on?

As if to answer her call, she saw light, and a couple of blurry figures in the room.

There was a loud ringing in her head, but she could tell the figures were yelling at her.

Tomoe is happy, she felt elated when she saw Senku and Yuzuriha, and...an elder man with white masks on.

What were they doing?

Tomoe felt her world spin, and despite her perilous situation, she grinned brightly.

"...survive." She choked out before her fatigue took over, leading her back to the boring darkness once again.

How long has it been?

It didn't feel as long as the petrification.

But it felt long, as Tomoe wanted to wake up and hug her children again.

The excitement, the longing, and the impatience was getting to her, but she knew she couldn't slack off in staying awake, at least mentally.

She was going to survive, no matter how long it takes.

Maybe the next time she wakes up, her children will no longer be children...

They will always be children to her.

For one second, her darkness was interrupted.

It was like an earthquake that shook her awake.

"Tomoe/Sensei!"

The next moment, she felt arms pulling her into a hug.

Without a moment of hesitation, she hugged her cubs close with a gentle smile, and ignored the few tears rolling down her cheeks.

Taiju, Yuzuriha, Mirai, and Senku.

"It's been a while."

"Yea, it's been two years, about the time you woke up." Tomoe patted Senku on the head with one hand, and with the other, she patted Mirai's. He stood there like stone, something that Tomoe was used to, but clearly the audience behind them was not.

"No wonder you all look so different. You all grew up."

Tomoe then nodded to Tsukasa, Ukyo, Nikki, and Gen, before acknowledging Hyoga and Homura farther behind.
