Third Person POV
"Dad!!!" Noel screamed.
Bright Wilson turned back suprised, failing to detect the distress in her voice.
That was the very first time in years Noel had addressed him like that.
As he was about to celebrate what he would call an achievement, he felt a piecing pain on his chest.
Shortly another one followed but on his stomach.
He slowly looked down and saw his white shirt stained with blood.
His blood.
Then the heart wrenching scream of his daughter followed.
Even with all the noise around them, he could clearly hear her as if they were alone in an echo filled room.
He fell to the ground with a hard thud, the pain unbearable.
The image of his daughter, his little Star running toward him being the last thing he saw.
How he wished they had more time together, how he was a better father.
If he could turn back time he would give her the world. A world she deserved.
"Star... " he said with the little bit of strength he had left. Noel's name out of his mouth carrying more than he could ever say.
Noel frantically searched for familiar faces in the crowd that had formed around them.
'My dad needs a hospital'
'No, no I can't lose you too' she thought. Drowning in her despair.
Hours before the gunshots, the carnival had been nothing more than bright lights and noise, with Noel secretely enjoying spending time with Bright, but she would never admit it. Days before, she was slowly getting used to the idea of having him around. Weeks before, the old painting started tearing, and a new one had to be painted. But months before? She didn't even want to breathe in the same air as Bright Wilson.
...
A slender figure, medium height with long brown hair tied into a ponytail tiptoed towards her room.
The entire house was plunged into darkness, the light emitting from outside being the only thing helping her see better. It didn't help that she was wearing sunglasses and no, she was not going to take them off.
When she got to the living room she came to a stop when the lights suddenly turned on.
Every living thing that had eyes looking at her.
'Why were they sitting in the dark like creeps?' she thought.
Bright was looking like he was about to murder her.
Her uncle Vincent, favourite one might she add was relieved seeing her.
Monica, Vincent's wife looked happy that she was in trouble judging from the look on her face.
Let's not talk about her older cousin brothers, they looked like they were ready to eat her alive, if Bright Wilson didn't finish her off first.
Great.
"Where have you been?" Bright questioned struggling to contain his anger.
"At the mall" she said knowing really well no one would believe that.
"At eleven pm? " his eye was close to twitching because of the amount of anger he was feeling.
"They were closing really late today" she said innocently then tried to run away to her room.
