Me and Vernon had been friends for as long as I could remember. I remember when I first met the man at Jun's party, and then again at the cafe. My fondest memory of us was in the garden, and it always brought me happiness when I thought of it.
Vernon always cared about me and he showed it.
Sooner or later, I began to find myself thinking about him a lot. I even introduced him to my brother as a close friend of mine, but my brother knew what was quickly coming. Sakura even said it, too. I didn't know myself, but I've always wanted it to happen. Me and Vernon.
As the semesters unfolded, we became inseparable on campus. From attending concerts to exploring new cafes, me and Vernon shared many adventures. The more time we spent together, the deeper their bond grew. I admired Vernon's passion for everything, especially basketball, and he appreciated my ability to find beauty in the smallest things.
One summer afternoon, I found myself engaged in a novel under the shade of a tree on the campus grounds. Vernon approached me with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "What are you reading, Y/N? Another one of those romantic sob stories?"
I laughed, closing the book. "Guilty as charged. Want to join me? I have an extra copy."
Vernon settled beside me, and we spent the afternoon sharing stories about our favorite books and discussing life's mysteries within them. It was moments like these that made me realize how much I cherished our friendship.
As the seasons changed, so did our friendship. One evening, after a particularly calming and cool concert, we found ourselves sitting on a quiet bench overlooking the campus skyline. The lights twinkled below as Vernon looked at me with a mesmerized gaze.
"Y/N," he began, "I've been thinking a lot about our friendship lately. We have something special, don't we?"
I nodded, a sense of anticipation hanging in the air. "We do. I value our friendship a lot, Vernon."
He took a deep breath. "Me too, Y/N. But, what if... what if there's more? What if we could be more than just friends?"
Our eyes locked, and I felt my heart skip a beat. The realization dawned on me, and a warm smile spread across my face. "Vernon, are you saying what I think you're saying?"
He grinned, a mix of excitement and nervousness in his expression. "Yeah, Y/N. I think I am."
My heart flutters as I realize that Vernon is confessing his feelings for me. I feel the romance in the air, and the heat and passion that has simmered beneath the surface finally burst free. The two of us lean in towards each other, our foreheads pressed together as our eyes are closed, both of us in the middle of a nervous but sweet kiss. The feeling is electric, and a deep and intense passion overcomes us as our lips meet.
As you broke the kiss, Vernon kept his arms around you and took your face in his hands. His eyes were filled with passion and love, and you couldn't doubt how much he cared for you right now.
In that moment, the transition from friends to something more felt like the most natural progression. We took a leap, and our relationship blossomed into a beautiful romance. From stolen glances to shared laughter, me and Vernon discovered the beauty of romance.
-- finally, vernon's deserved ending :)
i am so sorry for his lack of romance JSJS, but i honestly think they had the sweetest ending.
