Chapter 21

"Arthur, how do you know about Christian trying to find a replacement for Max?" Oscar looks at Arthur confused but Logan looks at Arthur with a knowing look.

Logan heard this rumor going around the paddock particularly the William's and Mercedes garages. The reason? Of course because Toto can't stand being away from his work boyfriend, Christian.

"Well obviously because I am friends with people in F2 that have connections with some specific teams such as, Red Bull. Everyone knows about it or so I thought, Christian isn't exactly being discreet about it." Arthur says concerned because both of his besties are now silent and trying to plan an approach to fix this situation.

But what they don't know is their time is already out...

The next day on the Austrian track~

"And the lights are out and we off and this folks starts the Austrian circuit..."

Although, Charles slept peacefully next to Max last night it is almost as though Max had not slept at all. He has constant thoughts running thru his mind which is making him lose sleep and lose focus. Christian has been in his ear until he climbed in his car today but once his car started his mechanic has been in his ear. He wants to just be alone and breath but if he is alone he is left to his thoughts which isn't a good thing either.

He shakes his head and focuses noticing Lewis is currently trying to overtake him. He speeds up keeping his present spot in first.

Charles is watching what Max just did and can't tell if he is just messing with Lewis to piss him off or if there is actually going on with Max. Charles is currently in 4th and basically doesn't know if he should try to push or not.

Lando hasn't been the same since he has seen Carlos's ex's texts about possibly him being a dad. Lando feels sympathy towards the kid not necessarily Vero but it still makes him feel a certain way. If Carlos is actually the father then he will make him take responsibility for the child and treat it as his own. But if Vero is just trying to ruin his and Carlo's relationship then she doesn't know the fire she is playing with.

Carlos has been waiting for something to happen, in his opinion Lando has been too relaxed about this situation all the drivers know how he is about family. Lando hasn't broken up with him which he is grateful for but in a way although it happened long before they got together he feels almost as though it is a betrayal to Lando. If he is the father he would of course want to spend time with his kid and they are both racers and he doesn't know Vero will do because she was a crazy bitch anyhow when they were dating.

After the checkered flag is waved~

Max of course takes first but Charles is directly behind his man. Max gets on the podium but his garage is really off for some reason like they are avoiding him. Charles isn't even looking at the cameras that are flashing infront of them but instead he is looking at his boyfriend's expression because he actually knows Max is hiding his true feelings. They hear the national anthems then walk to their respective garages.

Max walks into the Red Bull garage met with no cheers, no celebration, but silence and stares. He tries to walk away but he only gets a few inches until he is face to face with Christian.

"Follow me, Max." Christian says not giving him a second glance as they head towards his office.

Max doesn't have a good feeling about this but he has no choice but to follow christian.

They get to Christian's office, Christian gets to his desk and sits in the chair as Max closes the door. Max sits down in one of the two chairs in front of the desk.

"So it has came to my attention that you and Mr. Leclerc have been having an unprofessional relation within the paddock. I understand you are adults but there is a time and a place for everything and the paddock is not the place for a relationship." Christian says sternly and to say all of Max's worries have heighten to the point he is on the edge of the panic attack.

"Is it because Charles and I are both men? If for example I was in the relationship with a girl nobody would have batted an eye towards it. We are in 2023 there is no place for homophobia and I have never publicly said my sexuality. What if true to myself I am bisexual what is the problem with that? Formula 1 supports pride month and the community and now since I prove I am a part of it you all want to get rid of me because I ruin the team reputation for being in a relationship with a male. Do you see how fucked up this is?" Max is currently hiding his nervousness by using anger.

"Max, listen it ain't a choice you have, I have the power and you need to accept that you don't have a say in this situation. We are solving this problem before it becomes a bigger problem. I already have many replacements that in an instance are waiting to take your spot as soon as I contact them. So the Belgian race will be the last one of your season but if you don't fix this "situation" then it will be the last of your career at Red bull." Christian doesn't look up but Max can take a hint and immediately gets up and he makes it to the door leading to the garage and all of a sudden his vision is starting to blurry and then he sees black.

"Max!" is the last thing he hears before his face meets the concrete.

In the Mclaren garage ~

Lando and Carlos were having a celebratory make-out session but instead gets interrupted by a throat clearing.

They both look towards the direction it came from to see none other than Zak.

Lando is too shocked to move.

"We can explain-"Carlos gets interrupted by Zak.

"Explain what?! The fact that the person who signed with another team to prove themself and gain more of the spotlight is now having a sexual, exclusive relationship with my current driver, If that's what you were going to "explain" to me, Sainz... then save your breath. And you, Lando, You have been having Oscar cover this for you the whole time. I don't how many times I have asked him to define your guys relationship and you know what he said to me? It's just a publicity stunt, its just friends being friends. Yes he is a smart boy but at the same time I wasn't born yesterday and I sure as hell wasn't born last night. So I will give you both the chance to leave this garage with your dignity in the next 10 minutes and if there are any protests then i will have security publicly throw you out." Zak turns on his heel and walks out the door not noticing the couple scrambling to freshen up.

Carlos grabs Lando's hand forces him out the door and practically drags him to the staff parking since he is unresponsive. Lando is still shellshocked by what his boss had said.

After Carlos gets Lando in the passenger seat of the Ferrari, he starts the engine heading to his hotel not caring about what will be photographed by the paparazzi's when they arrive. Carlos has been occasionally been looking at Lando and when he does it for the 3rd to say his heartbreaks would be an understatement.

Lando is quietly balling his eyes out in the passenger seat everything is hitting him hard right now. He feels a hand grasp his and squeeze his hard.

Although, Carlos has a bunch of bullshit happening in his personal life, Lando is now the complete center of it.

Carlos plans on calling up his best lawyer from Madrid and have him on the case immediately. He will from today be filing a lawsuit against McLaren and the FIA for discrimination, Defamation, and a few other charges.
