Solo en Mis Ojos (Carlando & Lestappen)

Chapter 11

"There is a red flag on the track! It looks like Charles spun out because of Verstappen! Everyone is slowing down because the safety car is coming out but what do you think went thru Verstappen's head to do that!"

Charles sits at standstill with his car against the barriers. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes he can't believe his life almost flashed before his eyes caused by no other then his love, Max Verstappen.

In the meantime max is still dumbfounded about what has happened. He meant to only bump Charles tires while taking that corner not spin him out. He looks over in the direction of the Ferrari seeing its driver from under the halo.

Max internal doesn't know if he can make things better with Charles ever again because it seems like things now are even worse than they were before.

In the paddock all the cars are driven to the pits in order for the restart and then of course the couple takes this opportunity to once again be in each other's company. Lando and Carlos head towards Carlos's drivers room this time since  Charles won't be there to see them and there will be less people there.

Carlos allows Lando in first and the heads in behind him and closes the door. They both still have the adrenaline rushing thru their vains but both having different reasons. Carlos's being because he was overtaking a person during the incident and Lando's because he was almost directly behind Charles and Max. And if Charles spun the other way he would have crashed into Lando and it would have been a way worse accident.

Lando doesn't think and just wraps his arms around Carlos and starts feeling tears in his eyes.

Carlos wraps his arm around the younger and kiss him on his forehead.

Carlos pulls them onto the couch with Lando still sitting with his face in Carlos's neck sobbing because of the horrific experience.

"Todo está bien, mi cariño! (Everything is fine, my sweetheart!)." Carlos says rubbing Lando's back soothing him.

Lando looks up from his spot against Carlos's neck and nods. Carlos uses his thumbs to wipe the tears from Lando's eyes and Lando once again leans back into Carlos's warmth.

There was a comfortable silence after Lando settled down until, " what do think made max do that to Charles?" Lando says shakily.

"I don't know but they both need to get their shit together. And max better hope that Charles doesn't get a concussion." Carlos says pissed at both of his friends being immature about their lives and the people's around them.

"I just hope they realize they really love each other soon before it is too late." Lando says closing his eyes to take a nap against Carlos's abs.

Back on the track...

Max makes the split decision to head towards Charles car which the driver is still in.

He doesn't know what he is going to do once he gets there but only time will tell.

He makes it to the car and the only thought in his mind is to say his love's name...

"Charles!" Max yells.

Nothing moves...

"Charles!" Max says even louder this time hoping to at least get a little response. But unfortunately there is nothing happening after both attempts.

Max grabs the helmet strap and unclips it he pulls his Charles's helmet off. He sees the closed eyes of his love thru the eye gap of his head mask.

"Charles!" Max yells again this time shaking the fellow driver a little forcibly.

There is once again no response. The ambulance pulls up and the team forces max away from the car. Max mechanic shows up a few minutes later and drags him to his car and follows him back to the paddock.

Max stays silent as he heads to his drivers room.

He slams the door shut heads towards the couch and sits down with his head in his hands. He feels tears coming because the image of Charles being non responsive is replaying in his mind.

He hears a knock on his door and he can only imagine who it is.

"Max I think you need to see this." Horner grabs the Tv remote and turns it to the Sky sports broadcast. Max can make out thru the tears of his eyes that there is Charles being driven in an ambulance off the track. And the volunteers are picking up the many pieces of the debris left behind.

"I don't know what happened between you two to make you act this way but this is not your personal life this is your job and if you mix those to things up... it will only end in pain and suffering." Horner says leaving max to regret everything he has done in the past hour.

He feels his phone vibrate after Christian leaves. He really doesn't have the strength to look at it but he does anyhow.

Daniel: Open your door now! We need to talk!

Max doesn't have a second thought and opens his door to see his best friend standing their with a concerned yet disappointed look.

Daniel pushes his way in and max closes the door and faces it not ready to get lectured by another person about his mistake.

"Max, I am not here to lecture you. I am here as a friend to be by your side and try to understand what caused you to act out." Daniel says sitting on the couch looking up at max expecting an explanation from the younger.

"It was just meant to be a tire bump because he was coming to close to me and then I seen red and the next thing I see is Charles car really badly wrecked against the Barrier..." max doesn't look in the direction of Daniel instead he looks at the floor.

"Maybe you should finally tell me the reason you had called me crying and asking to hang out with you a lot recently because I know we are good friends but this is very out of character for you and-" Daniel is cut off by Max's lips on his.
