Chapter One - Camp Lifeseries

- 3rd Person POV -

Grian pulled his suitcase out from the car boot along with his pillow, quickly saying goodbye to his dad as he pulled out of the car park.
'I can't belive Scar and Mumbo talked me into this..' The blonde thought, dragging his suitcase up the dirt path until he could make out a sign for the camp, and the faint laughter and chatter coming from inside the gate.
He took a deep breath, nervously closing in on the camp's entrance and looking up at the massive sign that read:
"CAMP LIFESERIES! Accept your fate!"
He raised an eyebrow at the odd quote on the sign, and finally gathered the courage to open the gate.

Grian was met by a familiar voice shouting, "HEY! You made it!" As he was quickly pulled into a hug by his two best friends.
"I thought you just weren't gonna show up!" Scar pulled back from the hug and laughed
"I'm glad you got here though, I don't think I could stand another summer here with just Scar!" Mumbo chuckled, lightly punching the brunette's arm.Grian smiled at the two, most of his anxiety being replaced with excitement to spend the summer with his two best friends.

Not long after, a tall, green-furred boy a few years older than the group approached them, looking Grian up and down.
"Um.. hi?" Grian tried to make conversation with the honestly quite intimidating older boy.
"Hello." The boy replied, Grian noticing his German accent and serious tone. "You are the new kid?" He questioned, keeping the same serious tone.
"Yeah, I guess I am!" Grian chuckled lightly, trying to lift the mood. The older boy's face seemed to relax at this, holding out his hand for Grian to shake.
"I'm Doc. And you must be Grian?"
The avian nodded, giving what he hoped was a friendly smile and shaking Doc's hand.

Mumbo and Scar, who had been chatting in the background turned to look at the pair, Scar grabbing Grian's other hand and pulling him away from his conversation with Doc. "Come on, we've gotta introduce you to everyone!" Scar dragged Grian along with him, Mumbo giving the avian a sympathetic look as he was dragged along by the brunette.

"Guys, meet Grian! He's new this year!" Scar got the attention of a small group of people, waving and gesturing to the smaller boy. The group turned to look at him, and he was immediately shocked by the amount of other hybrids at the camp. He was one of the only few at his school, so it was amazing to see so many here! Maybe this camp wouldn't be so bad. There was some kind of butterfly or moth hybrid, a cat hybrid and a llama? That's a new one.
"It's so nice to meet you!" A  girl with a shock of curly ginger hair smiled at him, the rest of the group smiling and giving similar greetings.
"This is Gem, Pearl, Lizzie, Scott and Jimmy!" Mumbo introduced everyone, pointing to each person. They all seemed so nice.

'Maybe I am gonna have fun at this camp!' The small avian thought to himself, smiling.
