Mumbo flops fown on the picnic bench next to Joel, sighing. "I think author's forgotten about us, you know."
Joel looks up in surprise as he speaks, "What? He could never. Our author loves this book!"
"No, Mumbo's right!" Bdubs chimes in, leaning over the table. "He's taking a break!"
The entire table gasps at that, and Pearl speaks up. "He can't just take a break, he's stopping the canon events!"
Joel nods seriously as she speaks, "I know. That could be disastrous for the plot! What if... He's forgotten the plot?"
There were gasps all around again at that, before Bdubs interjected. "He can't have forgotten the plot... right?"
"You know, I hear there was no plot in the the first place, and he's just winging it." Pearl whispers, and the rest of the table falls silent.
"That's impossible!" Mumbo gasps, "You can't be serious..."
"No, it's true!" Pearl nods, "He doesn't even know how long this book is going to go on for!"
"Well, whatever the truth is he'd better come back soon, I want to see Etho again." Bdubs huffed, folding his arms to which the others nodded in agreement.
"I wish we'd gottan a more normal author." Joel huffed, folding his arms.
"Joel, that's so rude! He can hear us, you know?" Mumbo frowned, lowering his voice.
Pearl shrugs, "Most authors don't spend four hours a fay on character ai and forget to do any actual work."
Bdubs laughs at that, "Does he really? Man, I think you're right, Joel. We've got a damn weird author."
"You guys are too hard on him. Imagine if that was your job, to deal with all of us every day and try and stop us doing dumb stuff." Mumbo points out, giving Joel a nudge in the side.
"He'd better be back soon, is all I'm saying." Pearl sighed.
