It's the time of they year again?
The last day.
The final day once again and another year is waiting at the porch.
It passes so slowly and so quickly at the same time.
How is 2028 closer than 2018.
It seems as if the time went by so fast at some times and before you realize here we are again.
Russia rubbed his eyes before fluttering them open looking at his boyfriend America laying beside him. He closed his eyes again allowing himself to relax and just lay there for a bit. This was gonna be a long day anyways so it doesn't matter if he lays for a bit more with the american by his side.
He opened his eyes again and just staring at the others face. He laid there for a few minutes like this before the other stirred.
"Hm... Russ?"
"Good morning sleeping beauty."
America chuckled "morning" he replied and scooched closer into the russians embrace.
They laid there for a bit more because why get up right?
Exactly why get up there's no need to this day is just theirs anyway.
America laid peacefully till fluttering his eyes open.
"Isn't it the last of December?"
He beamed with curiousity and excitement.
Russia checked his phone. "Indeed" he said.
The american jumped up getting up and shuffling out of the blankets feeling the air on his body having seconds of regret because of leaving the warm solace of blanket and Russias arms but shook it off and started running around the house getting dressed and doing the usual routine.
"Why?"
Russia just asked confused at his boyfriend suddently running around instead of laying with him.
"We have to get ready Russ."
"But- its not even lunchtime yet?"
"Yessss but we didn't buy any fireworks."
"You want to abuse the poor animals with loud sounds?"
"Just sparklers and roman candles they aren't loud."
"Ye those sound fine."
Russia said getting up too.

(if you're wondering idk if you call it roman candles its this 'římanky' 😌)

Russia walked up to the bathroom doing routine too and getting dressed up.
They got ready and went to the store together the american beaming with excitement.
They walked around the snowy sidewalks a bit searching if any store sells these.
Eventually they got lucky and thankd to America they ended up buying three packets of sparklers and two of roman candles.
They brung them home and ordered takeout cuz somehow there wasnt mood for cooking anymore and they already ran out of potato salad (😋).
After eating there was a plenty of time they spent watching movies and in late evening watching the 'miracles of nature' quiz show. An kinda unwritten tradition.

It was getting more late and by the time the show ended it was almost time.
They walked out into the garden and looked at the time sitting side by side as Russia prepared a bit kind of a station from bricks and empty jar to fire the roman candles since of course he doesn't want anything to go wrong and injure himself.

They counted together as there was live countdown.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR RUSSKII!" Ame said loudly chuckling. "Happy new year Ame."
He hugged the american already seeing people lit fireworks as the atmosphere was now full of the loud noices and the sky was flashing with colors as the fireworks went on.
Russia smiled handing Ame a sparkle and lighting it for him before walking over to the made up station and lit the roman candles quickly returning and sitting beside America wrapping an arm around it as they watched.

It was pretty, one green the other red and the other green again as it quickly flashed through the sky with a decent amount of sound being heard but not too loud.

America's sparkle ran out and Russ gave him a new one taking one for himself and lighting them up.
America happily painted things that quickly dissapeared in the air but he was enjoying doing it.
Russia smiled and sooned couldn't help but join him.
They spent a lot of time out there laughting till getting to the last sparkle that was left.
America smiled and held it together with Russia and leaned onto his shoulder yawning, smiling and watching the sparks fly and dance around.
As it ran out they both shared their first new year kiss.

"I hope this year will bring us luck."
"Health and love too."Russia added and Ame nodded.
"Yes."
