Whispers of Destiny:A Serendipitous Journey

THE FLASHBACK

            I would like to say  I'm sorry for not updating the book immediately. I was involved in a head-on collision with another bike and had to spend months recovering in the hospital but thankfully I'm doing very fine now. I also want to say a big thank you to my readers for supporting me by reading my book. I would have a mass release for all the chapters I missed. Thank you once again. 
       
             Due to the tiredness from coordinating the best surprise party ever, Meixiu was fast asleep. While, Xiaoyun was still wide awake, thinking of the wonderful party that her friends threw for her. She stared at her best friend who laid beside her and was fast asleep on her queen-sized  bed with deep appreciation.
       Still finding it difficult to sleep and having to wake up by six in the morning the following day,she silently tip-toed out of her room and walked out of her house with a hoodie on and her phone in hand and decided to stroll to the near by supermarket and go grocery shopping, thinking that the fresh air would make  her feel sleepy. When she got outside the gate,she looked around and saw that people were still passing by because it was just some minutes after nine.
            Still thinking about the party Meixiu threw for her,she couldn't help but remember how she met her best friend.
      * Flashback Scene*
            It was one of those simple and boring Saturdays in the university. Xiaoyun was on her way to the park to work in an assignment given to her,so she decided to get coffee in one of the bustling coffee shops in China.
            Meixiu was in the coffee shop and was in a hurry to get her project done. Xiaoyun entered the coffee shop and happened not to watch where she was going and Meixiu happened to be staring at her phone. They both bumped into each other and Meixiu spilled coffee on Xiaoyun's notebook making her drop it and Meixiu to drop her phone.
            "Oh My God,I'm do sorry"said Meixiu. "No,it's my fault, i should have been looking at where I was going"said Xiaoyun. "No,if I hadn't been staring at my phone so much,this wouldn't have happened"said Meixiu. "Okay,it was both our faults"said Xiaoyun. "All done,again I'm sorry"said Meixiu. "It's okay,don't worry about it"said Xiaoyun.
               After the incident, Xiaoyun grabbed her coffee and went to the park. On the way to find herself a perfect seat at the park,she was staring intensely at her phone after reading a message from her phone while Meixiu was thinking deeply about something. As fate would have it,they bumped into each other for the second time in a day.
           "You're the girl from he coffee shop,we bumped into each other again"exclaimed Xiaoyun with an excited look on her delicate face.
              "Yes, I am. We're definitely meant to be friends, bumping into each other twice in a row,I'd say it's fate"said Meixiu while smiling.
               "Since fate brought us together let's go with the flow"said Xiaoyun.
               "I agree,this is so the meaning of serendipity"said Meixiu.
               "Serendipity,such a beautiful word. Never thought I'd use it"said Xiaoyun.
                "So, what are you doing here"asked Meixiu. "I have an assignment and the park gives me concentration"answered Xiaoyun. "I'm  here to work in a music project"said Meixiu enthusiastically.
               "Let's start with proper introduction"said Xiaoyun. "Okay,I'm Zhang Meixiu Ying"said Meixiu. "I'm Li Xiaoyun Jing"said Xiaoyun.
               Xiaoyun suddenly remembers something,so she asks Meixiu about it. "Aren't you the child if those business couple"asked Xiaoyun. "The one and only"answered Meixiu with a sigh.
          "What's wrong"asked Xiaoyun with a concerned gaze."I just feel like people don't see the inner story,as the child of billionaire couple,people think all I see is enjoyment.  
                "What do you mean"asked Xiaoyun with unlimited patience. "What I mean is,I want freedom,I don't want special treatment,I want real friends,I want people to know I achieved things without my parents help. I want to be able to do things freely without people pointing fingers at the billionaire's child. Is that too much to ask?"said Meixiu who was already tearing up.
           "No,it isn't,but you have to understand that humans will always be humans, Meixiu"said Xiaoyun.
             Meixiu suddenly starts laughing getting Xiaoyun confused.
               "What did I say wrong"asked Xiaoyun innocently. "Just the way you said humans like you aren't one,what are you a vampire?a werewolf disguising as human"asked Meixiu playfully while giggling.
                 At the mention of vampires and werewolves, Xiaoyun stiffened slightly,before letting out a forced chuckle."Don't be ridiculous Meixiu, vampires, werewolves?those things are just in fiction stories and our fantasies.
                "But, take a look at it,what if they are real"asked Meixiu. "....not possible"said Xiaoyun. "It is so possible"said Meixiu.
                 "I hate to break it to you, actually no,I love to break it to you, they're just in our fantasies"said Xiaoyun.
                   "But there's always a possibility that the impossible is possible"said Meixiu.
                   "There's a very thick line between fantasies and real world"said Xiaoyun.
                    "Says who"asked Meixiu.   "Says me"replied Xiaoyun.
                       After arguing for half an hour and getting to know each other better,they started hanging out more often. They started helping each other in many ways to get to the high position they are in the present day.
                      "Xiaoyun! Xiaoyun!"called Meixiu. "Meixiu,what are you doing here"asked Xiaoyun."I woke up and couldn't find you,called your phone,you didn't pick up,figured you'd be here"said Meixiu. "Yeah, I couldn't sleep,so I came grocery shopping"said Xiaoyun. "Let's go back home"said Meixiu. "Okay"said Xiaoyun.
                "By the way, how's Li Wei doing"asked Meixiu. "He's going to have to undergo another surgery,we are holding a board meeting tomorrow"replied Xiaoyun with sadness."I'm sure he's going to be okay,as your patient"
