Arc 3.10: Ready or Not

Lily walks up to me and says, " Hello partner" with a southern accent causing me to burst out in laughter. Kai is paired with Andromeda and Alastair is paired with Adrian.

"Great! Now that you have found your partners take the list, choose where to go, and find the treasures! You have 1 hour 30 minutes starting now!"

I see Kai urge Andromeda to run as he zooms past me. Adrian and Alastair make a run for it as well. Lily was about to run when I told her to wait to see where the others would go so that we can choose ours without going to the same place as the others since it is not against the rules to do so. The crew did not go with us because the forest is decorated with surveillance camera with no hidden spots. 

Lily and I run to the opposite direction of Kai and Andromeda and proceed to look at every corner of the part of the forest we went into with the hopes of finding the hidden objects. Five minutes in and we hear, "Red rainboots found by Kai and Andromeda. Umbrella found by Alastair and Adrian." And we still have not found a thing! As I start to panic I remember something from one of the class I took in the subspace, tracking animals which is not far from humans. 

I look around  and spot an out of place hollow log, the moss had grown beneath the log and not above and the top part looked muddy which is weird. I walk closer and prod it with a stick . It never hurts to be cautious you know. The stick touches something and I push it through to exit on the other side.

"Pocket watch found by Dahlia and Lily" rang loudly through the forest as we were trying to figure out what is was. 

Lily hugs me with happiness gracing her features as we found our first treasure. We confidently start looking for the other treasures now that we have had our first success. We have fun while doing so making the time pass by faster than I thought it would. 

"Alright, game end! Come back to the common ground! If lost follow the markings on the trees"

Lily and I turn around and start sprinting. We look at each other in surprise for our mutual understanding. 

"What... is... your... reason?"

"...Figured...there... will... be... a-a reward... so..."

"Same!"

We spot Kai with Andromeda and behind him Adrian was side by side with Alastair. We all look at each other and tried to out run each other. Lily once again made it to the grounds first followed by Adrian, me, Kai, Alastair, and Andromeda.

"Congratulations on completing your first mission!" Yu Lin says as he and the crew pop confetti filling the whole floor with tiny pieces of colorful paper. I pity whoever has to clean it up.  

"All teams please empty your trolleys into the corresponding basket and wait for the crew to count. Thank you" a crew member says as the rest of the crew stand behind the baskets.

We all place our treasures in the respective baskets while sizing up each other's goods. We sit back down when we are done and wait for the crew to count. 

"Lily as you were the first to arrive on the grounds both times you have two times the rewards. Because your team member, Dahlia, was the second person to arrive and the third to arrive from the treasure hunt, your team wins since both of the members were here before the others. This places team purple first on the leader board."

"Yes!" Lily and I exclaim in unison.

"Dahlia as second to arrive in the morning you get a reward and another for placing third, same goes for Kai and Adrian for placing second arriving from the jungle. Alastair and Andromeda you win nothing for now, but good job on trying your best."

"I am so happy for you!" Lily says as we giggle and clap our hands like a bunch of schoolgirls.

"Now let's count your treasures!" Yu Lin says as the crew form 3 groups of 4, pour out the treasures in the buckets and wait. 

"Counting team orange, with members Adrian and Alastair, an umbrella, a purple raincoat, a comb, screwdriver, a teddy bear, dumbbells, a suncatcher, a stove, a wine glass, a disk, 10 items in total".

"Counting team red with members with the members, Kai and Andromeda, red rain boots, sporting gloves, a toy car, a tablet, a coffee mug, a mini pumpkin, a pen drive, spray bottle, a pot, and a bag of rubber bands. Nine items in total".

"Counting team purple with members Lily and Dahlia a pocket watch, a dreamcatcher, a blanket, a stuffed elephant, an aubergine, a necklace, the phone, a key, headphones, a flashlight, and the bonus item a deck of cards. This makes team purple the winning team"

Lily and I look at each other in happiness as Andromeda glares at us.

"Being the winning team comes with advantages which I will tell you after giving you the value of your treasures. Here is the list".

Hello my lovelies, I had fun in the month of February. I visited my hometown, saw my dead relatives, saw a bunch of alive relatives, visited a historical site, flew 4 planes, went through 6 tsa checks, and flew over the pacific ocean. I had fun and now I have the travel fever. I will be updating every Sunday as promised but here is me trying to appease y'all. Love from Ghana.

Umbrella, disc, pot, suncatcher, pen drive, tablet, sporting gloves, blanket, pocket watch, dreamcatcher aubergine, key, phone, headphones, are five points each. Purple boots, call, screwdriver toy car, red boots, mini pumpkin, necklace, flashlight are all three points. Dumbbells and stove are both 10 points. Wine glass is 8 points, spray bottle yes six points, deck of cards is 15 points, stuffed elephant it's four points, and teddy bear is 7 points.
