The Tan couple and Lingxin were surprised because they were expecting a butler or one of the members of the Feng household not expecting to see the renowned Bai He Jiang of Bai family open the door for them. Embarrassment coupled with shock made Lingxin stutter "W-we... no, I need to speak to Yi Chen" Lingxin concluded while raising his chin arrogantly at He Jiang.

Yi Chen who did not know what was going on at the front gate called out to He Jiang while walking towards him "D-darling, what is taking you so long! We are supposed to be celebrating so why are you standing in front of the gate?" Of course, our cannon fodder turned female lead said this because Baobao had notified her of the Tan family's arrival.

Upon arriving at the gate Yi Chen acted surprised and gave her greetings "Mister and Madam Tan, Tan Lingxin. To what extent do we owe the honor of having your visit" Yi Chen acted innocently like she didn't know how bankrupt the Tans were becoming and how Lingxin pride is being swept on dirty roads to form an irreconcilable value. Lingxin thinking that he still had a chance at having Yi Chen as his girlfriend went ahead to embrace her in a hug. 

(Author-sama: If you ask me he is more delusional than the female lead but at the same time I cannot help but light a candle for another character of mine who is about to suffer at the hands of the Bai family 😑)

The Feng and Bai couple along with Ru Xian and Ah Shen who decided to follow Yi Chen arrived at the scene and could not help but scowl at Lingxin's actions. Lingxin let go of Yi Chen, held her hands and said in a righteous tone "I am sorry that I did all those things to you and even got together with your sister, if I knew she was poison I would have never dated her and I would have been with you until now. I know you I hurt you but if you give me another chance I will love you like you are my life source"

At this point, everyone was looking, Yi Chen, as she stared blankly at Lingxin who was right in front of her, she did not give her answer for some time and He Jiang began to fidget thinking that Yi Chen was considering going back to her ex while Lingxin was already throwing a party in his head and thinking about was to brag about with his new relationship with Yi Chen. Another minute passed and Yi Chen continued to stare passively at Lingxin as if she was not the subject of this conversation.

Yi Chen withdrew her hands and went to stand beside He Jiang, who was now radiating with joy, I see no reasons not to be strictly friends but are you sure with your bruised ego that you want to date an engaged-to-be-married woman. If yes then I hate to tell you that I am possessive and do not share so it's a no on my part. And if this is a ploy to gain back your wounded ego then you've unfortunately chosen the wrong person, Mr. Tan Lingxin." Yi Chen replied coolly while wrapping her hands around a smirking He Jiang.

"Mr. and Mrs. Tan, I would like you to see yourselves to the door along with your uncultured son while my family and I retreat to do whatever we were doing until you came along," Mr. Feng said while ushering, more like pushing them out of his mansion. The Tan household got out of the Feng residence as humiliation and shame followed them. "Good riddance!" He exclaimed and smiled at his one and only daughter who he was about to lose in about one month. He couldn't help but start tearing up.

'Baobao!!! I have been doped! Where is the stoic and strong family head of the Feng household and who is this imposter crying in front of me? Have you gotten a virus Baobao! I am calling foul I didn't prepare for this!!!'

Yi Chen stared speechlessly at her father who was a sobbing mess and her mother who decided to include herself into the crying party, hiccupping she said "My daughter Yi Chen is all grown up... hic... she is about to leave me... hic... and get married... hic... go far away and...hic... never come back... hic... I want grandchildren right away when you get married in fact just start now the earlier the better... hic"

'Why is my mother so complicated one minute she is crying another minute she wants grandchildren?! She is shamelessly guilt tripping me... wow! Baobao help you poor host'

Baobao pretends like he didn't just hear what Yi Chen said.

"Since mother said so shouldn't we try and start now, Yi Chen? If mother and father will permit me I will be taking Yi Chen away for the night" He Jiang said while looking at Yi Chen with a heated gaze making Yi Chen shiver all over and wet in places that do not need to be mentioned now...

Yi Chen betting on everything that Papa Feng won't allow her to go gave He Jiang a sympathetic gaze. Papa Feng who saw this thought that Yi Chen was sad to be separated from He Jiang and said "You may but I will be expecting to see my grandchildren running around the halls very soon so don't fail me son"

Yi Chen was surprised at the answer and was gapping at her father but was not given time to comprehend anything as she was carried in a princess carry to He Jiang's car. Anh Ling couldn't help but say " Looks like you are getting some!"
