I wake up suddenly. I try to sit up but it hurts too bad. Tobi must have slipped my shirt on.
"Owww." It even hurts to breathe. Marcus walks in. "Hello father." I say and start crying. Tobias runs in or tries to run into the room. Marcus drags him the rest of the way.
"You worthless kids! I have the absolute worst kids in the world! My boy is a crying coward and my girl is so stupid that... I'll stop."he takes a deep breath in. "Nurse I'm taking them home now. My daughter woke up."he says comung towards us.
"Mr. Eaton sir, if your daughter just woke up we need to keep her here. That and your son can barely walk by himself."she explains. "If you don't want to stay then come back in about two days."she says. Mrs. Prior walks in.
"How are you feeling?"she asks. After we get into a conversation, she treats Tobias and I like her own children. I cough up blood. Gross. Why is my head wrapped in bandages? "You need to eat."she says. The nurse brings in oatmeal.
"Hi sweetie! My name is Rosie. Now that your awake, may I take a look at your back please?"she asks. "Bailey is taking care if your brother." I nod. "Your back please." Tobias is on the other side of the curtain seperating us and I can hear Bailey asking the same question.
"No you can't. There is nothing on our backs." Tobias says.
"Alrighty. Thats okay." Rosie says. Both Bailey and Rosie are from Amity so if I know one thing from their manifesto is that Amity will do anything to make people just as happy as they are.
Once Rosie left the room Mrs. Prior started talking. "I know whatever excuse you come up with isn't true honey. I know your father beats you. Your secret is safe with me." I nod.
"Thank you. How do you know?" I ask.
"Screams aren't silent."she says. I smile.
