Annabeth's body was exhausted. It desperately needed rest and carbohydrates. Despite that, her mind was buzzing to an almost inconvenient degree.

Annabeth rushed back to her room, whizzing past a brunette girl wearing a black dress stained with blood.

That probably should have been a cause for concern...but Annabeth had blood on her too, so she was in no position to judge.

Annabeth jumped atop her bed, her head buzzing as she felt a bit dizzy. She'd been unconscious for a few hours now and was given some fluids through an IV.

But despite having the energy of a zombie, Annabeth followed Percy and Luke through the mansion to eavesdrop. Her curiosity would get her killed one day...or have her drop dead from exhaustion.

She rested her head against some pillows, pretending to be as inconspicuous as she could just in case Luke or Percy came in to check up on her, like they'd been continuously doing all day.

Annabeth's body was exhausted. It desperately needed rest and carbohydrates. Despite that, her mind was buzzing to an almost inconvenient degree.

Percy strolled in a few minutes later, locking the door behind him.

Annabeth sat up straighter, pretending to be as innocent as she could, "Where were you?" she asked

Percy shook his head, "That doesn't matter. How are you feeling?"

"Same answer as last time. I'm doing fine," she shrugged, slightly wincing at the pain in her shoulder.

Percy rolled his eyes, unconvinced.

He sighed deeply, "You're not very smart are you? This is like the second time in two days where you almost got killed."

"Excuse me?" Annabeth bristled, raising her eyebrows at his statement.

"You heard me," he shrugged, leaning against a wall as he watched her sit up straighter.

"This...arrangement doesn't work if you don't trust me. How am I supposed to protect you If you keep scurrying away like a mouse?"
