Ain't Always The Cowboy - Jon Pardi
3rd person POVDuring the last four weeks of George and Ranger reuniting, the only thing on Georges mind was riding. after the daily chores you can always find the brit and his midnight stallion galloping off into the unknown and not coming back to the house until dinner time, it was truly a blessing to be able to even get a word to George anymore. All he wanted to do was ride and be free from the world. A bit to free for his cousins likings...especially to Tommy.
"We lost Gogy to a damm horse Nashy!" Tommy complains, flopping down on the beat up couch in their western living room. Nash was rocking on their fathers rocking chair happily reading a book, his quiet peace disturbed by the blonde.
Nash sighs having to listen to his younger brothers rants ever since this little routine George started, it was always, wake up, eat, chores, take Ranger out, eat, sleep, repeat. Tommy got fed up with it on week two and the older brother had to listen as Tommy whined for his cousin.
"He said he would come watch another one of my practices! he lied! its been four fucking weeks and look around! George is no where to be found." Tommy huffed.
"Woah you said George, this must be serious." Nash laughed flipping over a page, not caring to much as Tommy was always the clingy type, he wont show it but he really loved his cousin dearly and wanted to spend as much time with him as possibly, the next day is never promised..
"OF COURSE IM SERIOUS NASHTON." Tommy shouted unexpectedly, making his brother shut his book and stare at him.
"Tommy, cut George some slack, he reopened a chapter in his story he really missed, be happy that he's getting back to his old self." Nash tried to explain to the younger, Tommy wasn't having it.
"Ew dude, don't talk to me with your book language. and i don't care. i want him to do something with me. we could be at a beach right now! having fun but he rather spend is time with that damm horse." Tommy ranted, his hand flying like crazy showing the extra dramatics of his pain.
"Look how about you call up Tubbo and see if he's busy? ill take the two of you somewhere so you can cool off, its really not a big deal Tom, let George be."
Nash said as he tossed his phone to Tommy, the boy swore under his breath as he dialed his best friends number.
— George POV —
I've never felt so free in so long, i can tell my cousins, mostly Tommy aren't taking it so good that id rather spend time with Ranger over them and my other friends. truth is that other friends equal Clay. and i don't really want to see him after that incident four weeks ago. i don't know what came over me or what possessed me to do that but it just didn't sit right with me after, everything's been so stressful for me, taking Ranger for daily rides really grounded me from floating up into the clouds. racing through the trees, beach's, honestly anywhere with Ranger was such a therapeutic experience. we're taking a little break on the beach right now, Tommy said he wanted to be the first to have a beach day with me but that all fell when i dropped the reins and let Ranger take me wherever he wanted, we ended up at this lovely cove. i always wonder how Ranger know exactly where these places are.. The time he took me and jumped over the horses enclosure fence was most likely not the first time he's done something like that.
i wish i could be as free as Ranger, no body paying attention to me twenty-four seven, i could just get up and leave, sounds like a dream come true.
I'm sat in the warm sand, drawing our names into the ground as i feel Ranger Blue stalking what i was doing, the bloody stallion bucked me off into the ocean, he really has a problem with that. my dark blue soaked jeans stuck to my legs, and my shirt having to be pealed off of my chest every few minute's. The feeling is giving me a sensory overload but the beaming sun makes everything feel better, the salt drying up on my freckled cheeks. and my hair getting frizzier by the second really ties everything down, making everything feel.. free.
