It All Goes Wrong

Candy's POV:

There’s been a lot of fights by now. Most of the guild has already KO'd by now. Freed has an enchantment set up next to where I am waiting so I can see how the fights are going. Right now, the only fights I haven’t gotten a report on are Freed vs. Reedus and Bickslow vs. Gray. No one has been able to find me yet, and I don’t intend on changing that. I’m not going to go searching for a fight with my own guildmates like the others. I’ll just wait until someone finds me. I’m confused though, I would’ve thought either Natsu or Gajeel would’ve just found me by following my scent. So either they’re dumb, or they have their eyes set on another target, such as Laxus. Which is stupid, because if they can’t beat me, they won’t come anywhere close to beating him. I’m about to move out of my spot when Laxus’ hologram appears next to me. “Candy, change of plans, I think you should come hang out here with me. Challenge anyone who finds me to try and beat you in order to get to me. A way of weeding out the unworthy challengers.” I don’t even get a chance to reply when the hologram disappears. Rosie and I leave our hiding spot and head for Kardia Cathedral. We pass Bickslow and Gray fighting on the way. Seeing them fight, I stop in my tracks, which causes Rosie to halt where she’s hovering in the air next to me. Gray was about to land a hit on Bickslow when he noticed a little girl in the window watching him worriedly. This distracts him long enough for Bickslow to land a hit on him and knock him out.

“Listen you jerk, when my babies hit you like that you’re supposed to stay down!” Bickslow says as he faces Gray, but he doesn’t get a response. He walks over and lightly kicks Gray with his foot to see if he’s really knocked out, which he is. He breathes a sigh of relief almost and says with a smile, “I’m glad I wore my helmet today. That punch could’ve caused major damage to my handsome face, and nobody wants that.” This little comment makes me laugh. He just looks at me and smirks and adds on, “Heh heh, ‘course we’re just lucky if Gray here decides to wear anything.” He starts walking towards me and Rosie. “You fight anyone yet munchkin?” I just chuckle dryly and shake my head as he starts walking with me as I head to Kardia Cathedral. Rosie flies over to me and I hold her as I keep walking. A slightly uncomfortable silence falls between us. Everyone in the legion besides Laxus knows how uncomfortable I am with this situation, yet they know I wouldn’t turn my back on them. Especially when Laxus and the Thunder Legion are the reason Rosie and I found Fairy Tail in the first place. I owe them so much, so I can’t just turn my back on them the minute they agree to Laxus’ shitty plan. After a while, Bickslow breaks the silence, “I know you don’t like this Candy, but this is for the better. Under Laxus’ leadership, the guild would not only become stronger and cooler, but it would also become more disciplined. Maybe then, the council would stop ragging our tails about disbanding. Let’s face it, Makarov isn’t disciplining us enough, and that leaves too much room for crazy people to ignore rules, such as Natsu. The guild will be better with Laxus as master.”
After staying silent for a minute, I look at the ground and say, “But would anyone be happy?” This causes him to stop in his tracks. Rosie tries to stop with him but I keep walking. I’m currently not trying to think of the future, but instead just dealing with the punches thrown my way.

Quite literally, actually as suddenly Alzack is flying at me trying to throw a punch at my face. I immediately dodge and grab the back of his neck and throw him against the wall next to me. This leaves him disoriented as he tries to pick himself up. He looks terrible, and full of guilt. Like he’s the one who just took out nearly the entire guild. “I can’t forgive this Candy. I don’t care that you’re a kid, I’ll destroy you before I let you hurt Bisca.” His protectiveness of her is touching, but not enough to move me. I let him know this too. “Alzack, your protectiveness over Bisca is touching. Not to mention brave. You have no idea how strong I am or how I fight, yet you’re willing to challenge me in order to save her?” He just looks even more pissed off than he was before. “I don’t get it Candy, how could you do this?! I understand how the rest of the Thunder Legion is able to fight us without batting an eye because they’re never around the guild. But you spend as much time with them as you do with us. You trained with Gray, Erza, and Natsu! You helped Mira when you first joined the guild! So why are you hurting them now? Why are you hurting your guildmates for some lowlife who’s jealous of his grandfather’s title?!” Anger boils in my veins. I surround my fists with fireballs and lightning at the same time. “What the hell do you know about Laxus?! You’re one to talk about being heartless and cruel when you just took out all of your friends just for the sake of ONE GIRL!!” This clearly pisses him off, and he acts on the anger too. He immediately sends an attack my way. “GUN MAGIC; TORNADO SHOT!!” He shoots this with both guns in an attempt to make the attack bigger. I fill my lungs with air and shout, “SKY DRAGON ROAR!!!!!” The wind in my attack cancels out the sand gathered in his, and sends him flying back into the wall I previously threw him against, only this time the impact destroys the wall and he goes through the entire building and out the other side, where there’s a big crowd of people in line to get some food at the bakery. They all look at Alzack shocked and a few annoyed, seeing as this happened a few times already today. Then once I emerge from the building they all look equally shocked to see me, since I don’t usually interact with the townspeople unless necessary, they all consider me a mystery. And everyone is always fascinated by a mystery. Now they’re all watching us fight. Shot after shot is sent my way by him, and attack after attack is sent his way from me. Finally stops for a minute, out of breath and asks again, “Would you really let Laxus kill the girls?!” This catches me off guard. Some of the townspeople who thought we were simply fighting for fun are instantly worried when they notice the looks on our faces. Alzack notices my hesitation and continues, “You may be a stubborn and prideful girl Candy, but you’re no killer.” “And you believe Laxus is?” I immediately shoot back. He shrugs his shoulders and says, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. I mean look at his father. A power hungry man who only cared about himself. It’s a wonder he’s even related to Makarov. I guess the good genes stopped with Makarov. I mean look at what he’s doing to the-” I don’t let him finish. I punch him in the face. No magic, just an outright right hook. He wasn’t expecting this, and falls to the ground groaning in pain. I just stand over him with a cold look on my face and say, terrifyingly calmly, “What would you know about family genes and how someone behaves because of them? If you were a child, and your beloved grandfather suddenly sent your dad away for no reason, what would you think of him then? Laxus has had a bad history of people abandoning him without explanation. And when he started acting out because he simply wanted his father back, you discriminated against him for it. Now you’ve fit him into this stereotype that he’s some kind of heartless monster that couldn’t care less about other people. SO MUCH SO THAT YOU THINK HE’S A KILLER?!” By now I’m in his face. He doesn’t say anything so I continue, “So let me ask you this; Why did he save my life if he was such a heartless murderer?” I don’t give him a chance to answer when I throw an uppercut to his gut, knocking the wind out of him and utterly knocking him out. I look at the townspeople around me and without saying a word, I keep heading in the direction of Kardia Cathedral, Rosie following me.
