Chapter Ten: Hailstorms, Christmas tantrums, Asgard test, training with Bucky

Since Indie could fly warships now, Indie used warships in the battels that she participated in, and they were quite useful as Indie could destroy buildings and fortresses in seconds. Indie was also very smart with the technical side of the warships and knew how to do repairs and everyone was very impressed by this. "Wow, Indie truly is intelligent and talented. I mean being able to fix a whole engine at just ten years old!" Tony told Loki. "Yep, Indie truly is phenomenal, her knowledge of the world and how things work at such a young age truly is inspiring." Loki told Tony. 
Indie was the type of girl who did not get scared easily, however there was one thing that Indie really did not like, hail. One night after dinner a storm rolled in, and it was the biggest storm that New York had seen in thirty years. Indie was playing in the lounge after dinner when the hail started. At first it started off light and Indie did not seem to mind, however after ten minutes, the hail started to get bigger. Indie then ran over to her dad while he was doing the dishes and hugged him tightly. Loki immediately stopped what he was doing as he knew that Indie hated hailstorms and picked Indie up and comforted her. "Hey, it's ok baby, I am here, you are safe, it's ok, you are safe with me in my arms." Loki then sat down on the couch and Indie snuggled into her dad, while Loki placed his hand over Indie's left ear and continued to comfort her. "It's ok, you are safe with me, I will protect you baby." Loki told Indie. 
The storm continued for an entire hour and then finally stopped, or so everyone thought. When Indie could hear that the hailstorm had stopped, she went back to playing. However, when Indie was getting ready for bed, the hailstorm started, this time louder than the last time. Indie immediately ran over to her dad and Loki picked up Indie and comforted her like always, however this time Indie's reaction was different. 
"Aww baby, you're shaking, it's ok, I am here, you are safe with me, you are safe in my arms." Loki said to his daughter. Loki then sat down on the bed and snuggled with Indie. Indie was still shaking so Loki wrapped a blanket around Indie and whispered, "it's ok baby, you are safe, I'm protecting you, it's ok, you are safe." Indie started crying and Loki said "Shhhhh, that's it just let it all out, it's ok, you are safe with me, I'm not going anywhere." Loki whispered to Indie. Loki then sang baby mine and Jeg saler min ganger and Loki instantly felt Indie's whole entire body relax. "That's a girl, it's ok, you are doing so well, I am beyond proud of you." Loki told his daughter. After the storm passed, Ella went outside and got one of the hailstones to show Indie. "Hey Indie, look at this." Loki told Indie. Loki looked at what her mum had brought her and asked, "is that one of the hailstones?" Indie asked her mum. "Yes, it is, it looks so cool doesn't?" Ella told her daughter "Yes it does." Indie told her mum. "This is why the hailstorm was so loud because the hailstones were very big." Ella told Indie. "It's so big!" Indie exclaimed. "I know right!" Loki exclaimed. "May we please take a picture of it and take it back outside?" Indie asked her mum and dad. "Of course baby." Loki and Ella told Indie.
Once that was done, Indie finished getting ready for bed and Loki asked Indie "baby, would you like to sleep in our bed tonight?" "Yes please." Indie said with the cutest and sweetest smile. Indie then got her pillow, grabbed some books she wanted to read and got comfy. Once Loki and Ella finished reading books to Indie, Indie fell asleep, so Loki and Ella put the books away and helped Indie to lie down. Loki and Ella then lay down and turned off the light and snuggled their daughter. "It was so sad seeing Indie shaking during the second hailstorm." Loki whispered to Ella. "I know, I have never seen Indie shaking because of a hailstorm." Ella whispered to Loki. 
"Indie was just so scared, we should talk to Bruce and Tony about making some headphones that Indie can wear during hailstorms, because I had a look at the weather and for the next three days it is going to be hailing at nighttime, and the hail is going to be the same size as the hail from the second hailstorm." Loki whispered to Ella. "Yeah, that's a great idea, we want Indie to enjoy nighttimes." Ella whispered to Loki. "Ok we can talk to Bruce and Tony tomorrow morning." Loki whispered to Ella. "Great plan." Ella whispered to Loki. "Goodnight honey." Loki whispered to Ella. "Goodnight honey." Ella whispered to Loki. 
The next morning, Loki and Ella told their daughter about getting her some headphones. "Hey baby, mummy and I were wondering if it would ok if we took you to Bruce's lab and have talk to Bruce and Tony about some noise cancelling headphones for you to wear during hailstorms." Loki told Indie. "Yeah, I love that idea." Indie told her mum and dad. So Indie, Loki and Ella went to see Bruce and Tony. "Hey Bruce and Tony, we were wondering if you could make some headphones for Indie to wear during hailstorms." Loki asked Bruce and Tony. "Yeah of course, we can take some measurements and design some headphones for Indie that will block out the noise of the hailstorms but can still hear when people talk to Indie. Is that ok with you Indie." Bruce asked Indie. "Yes." Indie told Bruce. Loki then picked Indie up and sat her down on the bench. Bruce and Tony then took measurements of Indie's ears and head. 
One hour later Bruce and Tony gave Indie the headphones that they made for her to test them out. Once they placed the headphones on Indie's ears, they said "Indie can you hear me?" Tony asked Indie. "Yes, I can hear you Tony." Indie said. Bruce then turned on a sound machine that created a hailstorm sound. "Can you hear the hailstorm Indie?" Bruce Indie. "No." Indie told Bruce while shaking her head. Tony then turned off the sound machine, took the headphones off Indie's ears and said, "so Indie, when there is another hailstorm, you can put these headphones on so that you don't have to hear the hailstorm." Bruce told Indie. "Ok." Indie told Bruce. Loki then picked up Indie and put her back down on the ground and Indie went to play in the lounge. 
That night, just as Loki predicted, yet another hailstorm started to roll in, so Loki grabbed Indie's headphones, went over to where Indie was playing and said, "hey Indie another hailstorm is going to start in about five minutes, do you want to put your headphones on?" Loki asked his daughter. "Yes." Indie told her dad. So Loki placed Indie's headphones over Indie's ears and Indie continued playing. Everyone else heard the hailstorm get louder and louder and Loki and Ella watched to see if Indie noticed. Indie did not even notice that there was a hailstorm. "Are the headphones working?" Bruce asked Loki and Ella. "Yes they are, thankyou once again for doing this for Indie." Loki and Ella told Bruce. "Yay, I'm so glad, anything for Indie." Bruce told Loki and Ella. 
Once the hailstorm passed, Loki went over to Indie, bent down to Indie's level and said "Indie, you can take the headphones off if you would like, the hailstorm is over." Indie then took off the headphones and Loki asked Indie "so how were the headphones baby?" "They were amazing, I could not hear a single sound of the hailstorm, thank you so much for doing this for me Bruce and Tony." Indie said and ran over to Bruce and Tony and gave them both a massive hug and kisses. "It's our pleasure Indie, anything for you." Bruce and Tony told Indie and gave Indie a massive hug and kisses.
A month later it was the Christmas season so the whole entire family were getting ready to decorate the whole entire compound. Christmas truly was Indie's absolutely favorite holiday of the year and Indie's excitement levels went through the roof. "Indie, do you want to help us get out all of the boxes of decorations and start decorating for Christmas?" Loki and Ella asked their daughter. "Yes!" Indie exclaimed and immediately ran over to the cupboard where the boxes were kept. Loki put Christmas music on, and Indie was giggling the whole time. "I absolutely love how Indie still is extremely excited about Christmas and still believes in the magic of Christmas." Loki told his wife. "I know, and we never want Indie to stop believing." Ella told her husband. "Of course not." Loki replied. 
Traditions were something that were taken very seriously in Asgard, so Loki and Ella made sure that Indie, Ford and Finn knew about and participated in every single tradition. One of the most important traditions was decorating the Christmas tree together and putting the star on together, as a family. Since Ford and Finn were a year and a half, they still needed support to decorate the tree, but in Asgard, no matter how young the child is, they should be able to participate in each tradition and Indie was more than happy to help her brothers. Decorating the Christmas tree was always so magical and special and something that Indie always got excited to do. It did not matter if The Laufeyson's were not in Asgard, the traditions still mattered, and Loki and Ella were making that the traditions were being passed down to their children.
