The Witch's Training

Before dawn, two soldiers entered Abigail's chamber while she was still asleep and woke her. "Commander Anne asked us to wake you, it's time for your training," one of the soldiers remarked as Abigail awoke and turned to face the troops. Because of her extreme dizziness, Abigail was unable to see clearly.
"What?" Using a shaky voice, Abigail inquired.
The soldier said, "Get up, it's time for your training," and handed her a black cloth to put on.
After getting up and changing into the black outfit, Abigail followed them. She was taken to a sizable temple within the palace. There were torches all over the temple, even though it was still dark. There was a statue of the goddess they worshipped at the end of the temple which was made of gold likewise the floor and walls of the temple. When Abigail arrived, Commander Anne was in front of the statue. Abigail was asked by one of the troops to go meet Commander Anne. They exited the temple and shut the door after the soldier instructed her to meet Commander Anne.

Abigail sighed and approached slowly towards Commander Anne. As a result of her slowness, Commander Anne stated, "You don't need to be scared," and Abigail responded by moving a little quicker.
Commander Anne motioned for her to get down when she reached her, and Abigail did so. "As the day is to light, and the night is to darken, you belong to us," Commander Anne said, placing a hand on her head and closing her eyes. "With the power vested upon me by the goddess, I anoint you to be a part of us."
Commander Anne spoke, then went to the alter behind Abigail and lifted a bowl with both of her hands. She then went back and pointed the bowl towards Abigail, who glanced at it but kept mute.
"Drink it," she instructed. When Abigail collected the bowl and glanced inside, she was utterly shocked to see blood.
"What is this?" Abigail asked with terror,

"We must make sure that a person belongs to our tribe before we train her, and by doing so, we anoint her to be one of us. Therefore, if you drink the blood, you will be one of us,"

"But I'm from North Kadi, I'm of the peaceful tribe,"

Commander Anne said, "Well, not anymore. Now drink up,"

"No, I - I - I could never betray my village," stuttered Abigail.
Commander Anne drew out her sword with one hand and stated, "I didn't want to do this, but you gave me no choice. If you don't drink this now, I will kill you. Now drink up." she said and pointed the sword to Abigail's neck.

Although Abigail knew she couldn't kill her due to her great import to Queen Kira, yet she slowly raised the bowl to her mouth, then she quickly poured the blood on Commander Anne's face, then she stood up and ran off.
When Abigail was about to open the door, an arrow shot out from behind her and pierced the door.
Abigail turned and looked then she saw Commander Anne holding a bow and an arrow.
Commander Anne spoke loudly, "Abigail, think very carefully about your next step."

Abigail was terrified when she saw Commander Anne holding this weapon, but she still refused to betray her tribe since she had read books about such situations and was aware of the repercussions.

Abigail had never been directed an arrow before because she had always been locked up in the castle. She was so terrified that she could do nothing but raise her hands.

Commander Anne approached her and said, "I am not Queen Kira, whose heart is so soft that she could have mercy on everyone, I am Commander Anne and I think you know what a commander is, I don't joke, any slight mistake I would kill you, and guess what, you made your first mistake when you pour the blood of the tribe on my face. luckily Queen Kira wants you alive so I won't kill you, but I will punish you," then, she shot an arrow on her lap.

Abigail screamed and fell to the ground sobbing vehemently as blood started to pour out of her lap after she shot the arrow.

Commander Anne yelled, "Get up," but Abigail was in so much pain that she couldn't stand. She was hauled up by Commander Anne with one hand, who then pushed her to the centre of the temple.
"You must develop endurance during your first training and it's sad you made me teach you that the hard way," Commander Anne approached Abigail and said, "You have no endurance, which is why you're wailing like a baby over a small arrow I shot to your lap," Then, she yanked the arrow firmly out of Abigail's lap, Abigail shouted and then collapsed to the ground.

Commander Anne then ordered her to stand up again, but Abigail was in so much pain that she had to beg Commander Anne to release her. When Abigail started to take too long to stand, Commander Anne approached her and pulled her up. Commander Anne then shot another arrow into her second lap. It was so awful this time that the arrow ended up on her lap and emerged from behind her lap. Blood started to flow all around the temple as Abigail remained on the ground, screaming and sobbing in agony. Commander Anne put the bow back where she had taken it and headed out,
"To be a part of us, your blood must flow in the temple if you can't drink the tribe's blood. That's all for today. The guards won't help you up, and when you stand up, clean up the blood you spilt on the ground this is a temple, not a battleground.
