As soon as I entered I heard the voice of six ladies along with Maa.Snacks was served in front of them.
But I couldn't see Bhabhi." Arey Bahu aa gayi"
One of the lady said.
"Aao Bani.. "
Maa said and I went near them.
I lowered my duppata for the muh dikhayi rasam.
I moved and she made me sit in the middle.
" Ye hein Veranshu ki dulhan, Bani"
Maa said and sat down.
"Veeranshu? Humein toh laga Teer ki shadi hui hein "
A lady said.
"Teer ke liye toh heera chunna padega Sumi, usmein abhi waqt hein.. "
She said proudly.
Did she just say I don't deserve Teeranshu? Though it was he who ran away? Though it was she who said I would be best for her son?
"Accha chalo abb Bahu ka chehra dekhe "
Another last said.
"Zarur aa jao.. "
Maa said and one lady came forward.
She came and picked up the ghunghat. I smiled a little and bend to touch her feet."Arey bas bas beta.. "
She said laughing.
"Waise man na padega kala, sanskar toh hein tumhari Bahu main.. Haan bas thoda rang sawla hein.Koi nahi main ek baar dermatologist ko janti hoon woh issi fair kar dengi. "
She said and they giggled.
They fucking giggled?
No I didn't usually swear but the audacity of these ladies infiltrated my veins with anger.
I was shocked hearing her saying as if having a brown skin was sin.
I know I am beautiful just like how every girl is beautiful in their own way but hearing them mocking and Maa not saying a word was hurting me even more.
No Bani control yourself! This will create more problems for Veeranshu.
Another lady came forward.
" Nain nakshatra toh acche hein. Waise ye set bada sundar hein aur kya sab laya tumne apne sasural ke liye.. "
She asked.
" Ye aur iske shadi ke gehne.. "
Maa said.
" Offo.. Mr Raizada ke yahan shadi main gayi thi main na.. Toh wahan toh dulhan ke taraf se sabko heere ke set mile the.. Par shayad sabki barabari ki itni hesiyat nahi hoti.. "
