This Is a Normal Story...?

"H-Hey...Lio..."

Kio shook Lio softly, who mumbled and shoved Kio down onto the ground of the tent.

"Five more years..."

Kio let out a small shriek, tossing Lio off of him. He didn't like physical contact and he didn't really wanna be a part of that right now. It's not that he's afraid, it just makes him...uncomfortable...is all. Not a lot, but enough to make a hug that lasts longer than 3 seconds awkward to him.

Lio groaned, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He glared over at Kio, mumbling curses under his breath before speaking up.

"Why the hell didn't you let me sleep..."

"C-Cause I just need t-to make sure you see it- a-andmaybehelpmefindoutwhatthatthingthatmadethenoisewas..."

(*A-And maybe help me find out what thing that made the noise was)

"What noise? And stop mumbling. It's fucking annoying and I just woke up. I don't have enough mental energy to deal with it right now."

"I-I don't know. I-I went to bed earlier a-and before I did, I-I heard a noise. I-I didn't check it, and I just- I woke up later and it was still dark. S-So I need to know if it's still dark to you too..."

Lio grumbled, but crawled out of the tent, looking up at the sky in annoyance. Kio stumbled out after Lio, falling face first onto the dirt.

"Yeah...that's pretty fucking creepy..."

Kio looked up at Lio, sighing. It was both the answer he had hoped for and didn't want at the same time. But...at least he wasn't crazy.

"So you see it-?"

"Yeah...Well, come on!!"

Lio got up, turning on a flashlight and walking around with a tone that seemed unaffected by their current situation. This, of course, surprised Kio. Why hadn't Lio freaked out? Was there something wrong with him? Then again, it's Lio. You couldn't expect much more, let alone any less. Kio hesitantly got up and walked after Lio.

"Why-Why do you seem so...calm about this-?"

"It's just dark. No reason to freak out."

"W-Well earlier you said a wolf might have killed that person!!"

"Come onnnnn!! It was just fun and games~"

"B-But it's a possibility!!"

Lio laughed, clutching his sides tightly. This, of course, made Kio a bit annoyed. Lio always did this kind of stuff. Tease Kio and then die of laughter not soon afterwards. Kio looked away from Lio and steered his attention towards a lake. How long had it been since they got there? He didn't know. It looked cool and refreshing. Kio ignored Lio's laughter and dipped his hand in the water, waving it around.

This is kind of peaceful...I wonder if Aki and Chiro came here. Maybe they're still alive. Maybe they just got lost. Maybe they know where the lake is. We could leave a message and give them instructions on how to find us. Then again, what if some monster or something comes across the letter and finds directions straight towards-

Lio's obnoxious laughter snapped Kio out of his thoughts, as Lio had accidentally hit Kio with his elbow. Kio glared over at Lio before shoving him into the lake.

"That'll give you something to laugh about..."

Kio muttered some insults under his breath, sighing. Lio was a great swimmer, so he would probably be swimming around and looking at whatever was under the water like an idiot. Maybe there were beautiful fish and shells, or rock castles and pearls. Kio wouldn't find out. He didn't like getting wet unless he was in the shower or in the rain.

After a minute of Lio not resurfacing, Kio got slightly concerned. Another prank? Maybe Lio made a bigger record of holding his breath? Maybe he had come up for air when Kio wasn't looking???

"H-Hey Lio..."

Kio splashed the water before tossing a rock at it.

What the hell...Where is Lio?!

Kio smacked the water with his hand, spraying water everywhere.

"Lio quit it!! This isn't funny!!"

Kio leaned over the edge, trying to feel around in the water with his hand for Lio.

I'm gonna fucking kill you if this is all a-

"Oh, there you are..."

Kio felt a hand grab his from under the water, sighing with relief.

"Now come on!! We don't have time to act stupid!!"

Kio tugged at the hand, but it wouldn't budge.

He tugged again.

It didn't budge.

What the hell-? Just fucking come out you idiot!!

Who the hell does he think I am? His mom? I'm not gonna just sit here and baby him like some-

Kio barely had time to react before he was dragged under the water.

How much had he struggled?

Could he still breathe?

Where was Lio?

Would Kima find them?

Those were his last thoughts before the world became blurry.

No...

Not this way...

Please....

Kio struggled once more before blacking out beneath the water...

Authors note: Guys I'm sorry I didn't update this 4 so long. I'm ashamed of myself, lol. I got kind of mentally sick and felt like death for a while, but I plan to continue "This Is a Normal Story"! The schedule might steer off course for a while, but I'll try my best to make new episodes in advance :')
